MICHAELINNOTTS  I have installed this and have it running on two computers, as per the instructions. However, I have absolutely no idea how to get my cursor from one screen to the next, or change the keyboard to control one computer to the other.

SCHMELDING  Great app, but there are too many quirky things at this point. I realize it's not a full version, but here goes nuthin':

1. Saves .config file to Desktop instead of ~/Preferences.

2. Doesn't remember settings between launches.

3. Too many dialogs. "Have fun"?!? The app doesn't need dialogs -- the buttons already show you the state of the app.

4. Needs better instructions (but then again, so does Synergy).

5. Something that launches you last saved config on login.

However, the app does have a nice interface and not bogged down with too many useless features or other bloat. It's useful, but I'll send my money if the other things get added.

If you have never use QuickSynergy, click "Save" first, this will create the file that was missing. Then click "Start"

GRANT BARRETT  In order to get this version of QuickSynergy to work with the latest binary releases from the SourceForge project (if, for example, you want to use QuickSynergy with Windows or Linux and not just with another OS X machine), you can easily do so. First, download and decompress the latest OS X version of Synergy from http://synergy2.sourceforge.net/. Then right click on the QuickSynergy application on your computer, and choose "Show Package Contents" from the contextual menu. Go into QuickSynergy.app/Contents/Resources. In there you will find two files (among others) named "synergyc" and "synergys." Replace those two files with the identically named files from the Synergy Sourceforge download. Close the package window. QuickSynergy should now work as usual.

NEOBOBKRAUSE  I've used Synergy across my MacOSX and XP boxes for about a year now. I'll bet not having to push buttons on my KVM box literally saves me half an hour or more of drudgery every day. I've used SynergyKM for about 6 months. And that was fairly easy to set up and use. But it hasn't been updated to use the latest Synergy updates for some time. So I gudgingly decided to see if I could get QuickSynergy to work for me.

WOW! It was virtually effortless to install and configure QuickSynergy as a client. And, though I've only been using it for 36 hours, my mouse is noticably more responsive and the connection between my machines MUCH more reliable that what I was experiencing using SynergyKM.

Thanks very much for putting such a great user experience on the front of the Synergy service.

CHESTERRANT  I just installed QuickSynergy on my Mac (iMac G5 running 10.4.2) and Synergy2 on my Windows XP laptop. It's fabulous. It took about 10 minutes to set up, and that was only because it took a few minutes to figure out that you need to input computer names in QuickSynergy and and IP address on Windows.

I'm using the keyboard attached to my Mac since I roam with my laptop quite often. It's great! Works like a charm and saves me $50+ on an overblown KVM switch when all I needed to do was share the keyboard and mouse.
