Lingon is a graphical user interface for creating an editing launchd configuration files for Mac OS X Leopard 10.5. You can use launchd on a Mac to launch scripts and applications whenever something special happens or at a specific time or periodically. You get all launchd configuration files in a list to the left so you can easily see all and choose which one to edit.
Editing a configuration file is easier than ever in this version and it has two different modes. Basic Mode which has the most common settings readily available in a very simple interface and Expert Mode where you can add all settings either directly in the text or insert them through a menu.
DONMONTALVO I've used Lingon for a while now. It's never crashed or stalled, ever. But then I'm not running hacks and system modifications (outside of what Apple "blesses" like launchd and cron stuff).
Lingon is an *excellent* launchd GUI solution. Just as an example, it's the preferred launchd GUI for Apple:
MARUKO DRINKING TEAM Sorry, but this is just a buggy piece of crap. Used to be good, but now it just basically doesn't work. It doesn't save the data that it shows in the GUI, and therefore it is worse than nothing. I recall this used to work, a couple years ago, but it no longer works on my 10.5.7 Mac Pro. Too bad. I just ended up using BBEdit. (Version 2.1.1)
ZEITKIND OK, after contacting the developer, he found the bug and already made a new version (2.01). Lingon starts fine now. If all developers were so responsive...
Nice tool for people who know what they do. Thx! (Version 2.0.1)

ADI2 i get a not available icon on the lingon icon after i unzip the 1.2.1 version. never saw that happen to any app. what could be the problem? it kinda looks like this http://www.flickr.com/photos/lcummings/838409032/ (Version 1.2.1)
If using without admin-rights, i.e. just for viewing, it keeps asking for credentials, even if you don't wanna change anything. It should only ask for authentication while editing or writing changes. (Version 1.2)
PETER BORG The reason that it asks you to authenticate as an admin even when you are not editing, is because that is the only way to find out if a launchd is loaded or not. If you don't want to authenticate you can just press Escape or choose Cancel in the authentication dialogue and then it will display a question mark instead of a loaded or unloaded icon. (Version 1.2)

MATTETH Saved my day. I needed to keep a script alive on a kiosk-type computer - guaranteed, for a long time.
Still works, after six months. If it crashes, it immediately kicks in again, thanks to launchd and Lingon. (Version 1.2)
