DESCRIPTION

breveCreatures is a screensaver that simulates the evolution of virtual creatures in a physically simulated 3D world. Beginning initially with random creatures, the screensaver uses a genetic algorithm to develop creatures capable of realistic locomotion behaviors.

The concept and algorithms implemented in breveCreatures are based on Karl Sims' seminal work, "Evolving Virtual Creatures".

ANDREW T.  Looks great, works great, but I can't reset. Clicking the button does nothing. Had to delete .plist file.

FOOBAR1969  It's a shame there isn't a proper app of this, with a bunch of controls and options, rather than just a screensaver. I have wanted to evolve block creatures ever since I saw the original program on PBS.

MATIEMAN  absolutely incredible, i could look at this for hours and never get bored.

Its amazing how sophisticated these creatures get after about 80 generations.

I would definitely recommend this to everybody
