DESCRIPTION
iSquint is an iPod video conversion app for Mac OS X. It's many times faster than QuickTime Pro, works with almost all popular video formats, and it's infinitely free-er. It's also really easy. Just drag in your file, and click Start. You can also choose "TV" or "iPod" size, set your quality, or even go all-out by playing in the Advanced drawer.
On a 1GHz G4, iSquint can convert most video files to iPod-screen-sized videos in realtime. Intel Macs are up to twice as fast, and can convert videos upwards of 5x realtime! Depending on a few factors, a 20 minute video will take up anywhere from 50-150MB of disk space.

- QuickTime Pro and DivX codec not required.
- DivX and XviD AVIs, all forms of MPEG video, and many other formats QuickTime chokes on are supported.
- Batch Processing of multiple files. Save in-place, or to a different folder.
- Automatic aspect ratio detection. Anamorphic MPEG-2 and HDV detected too.
- Quality slider. Leave it as is to trust me, mess with it if you know better, or completely ignore it and play with the...
- Advanced settings drawer. Change every aspect of the conversion process.
- Multithreaded for multi-processor computers.

WHAT'S NEW
Version 1.5.2:
- Certain types of files converted to plain MPEG-4 no longer show up without video in QuickTime Player 7.4 and higher.
- iSquint now includes a program droplet called "Debreaker" to repair damaged "no video" .mp4 files created by earlier versions of iSquint.
- Tiny files that finish ridiculously quickly are no longer assumed to be errors.
- Turkish Localization by Ugur Sofra.

RMENDES Hope your personal reasons that took you away from this project are going fine, but please considering in returning. iSquint is the best app I've seen to get it's job done.

STEVEW The video format/software/conversion world is a mess so I understand why the developer is dropping out but having just now (7/7/09) found iSquint I must say I'm sorry to see them go. I had a video that nothing else (Flip4Mac, Handbrake, VLC etc) could handle but just for kicks I gave iSquint a try and - poof - instant perfect MP4 video. No settings - just drag and drop. Excellent! Download this while you can! Thanks for all your hard work and best wishes.

STANLEY MARCHAL This is a great converter for non-power users. The result are good but not outstanding. But in general I like this very much. That said, it crashed on one of my avi video. It starts converting but somewhere at 50% of the complete file - 20mb - it freezes and doesn't to anything anymore. Other converters do not have this problem with the same file. All other videos I converter do work. Easy to use. Easy settings. Good end results.

XEBRAWERX Worked perfectly to convert a captured Flash video from RealPlayer Downloader to Quicktime. Five stars all the way.

PROMAX I have one question? Where are the options you need to increase quality of the videos? It's also clear this has been programmed by a Windows user. He needs to take a look at the OSX programmers guide asap. But in the end it works to convert to iPod movies etc... but lacks many important features found within other comparable converters.

MORGANLAYNE This program is so quick, easy, and reliable. I'm a new Mac user and was concerned about all of my avi files, but iSquint converted them quickly into a file compatible with my Mac. It converted a 9 minute video in less than 1 minute; literally. Great program.

RANDE_IS Finally, something that works!! I wasted an entire day downloading junk converter programs that promised the world. Since downloading iSquint I've deleted them all. I have high hopes for using this program in conjunction with TubeSock for capturing educational U Tubes. After TubeSock captures the files as FLV, iSquint comes along and converts it to Mpeg4. I simply drag and drop the file into my PowerPoint and voila, I've got dynamic video on my PowerPoint slides. Way to go! Now what's this crap I am hearing about iSquint out-of-business. Get up, brush yourself off, hire a business manager to take care of day-to-day and get back to your talent for programming. We need you out here!! (MacUpdate: Never asked me for my rating and no way to edit it. )

SOULSLAVE you can download U tube videos directly to ipod format or others with firefox extensions. isquint is really for when you want to convert a really big file, like a movie.
