DESCRIPTION
Project GlassFish community implements an open source Java EE 5 application server. GlassFish is a robust, commercial, production quality, compatible application server that is free for development, deployment, and redistribution.
WHAT'S NEW
Version 2.1:

Announcing GlassFish v2.1 Final! GlassFish v2.1 is an enabler for SailFin 1.0. In this release, we have fixed around 500 issues since the GlassFish v2 release. In addition to these bug fixes, several quality improvements were done including a newer Shoal Group Management Service (GMS) and more robust Session Replication. A newer MQ version 4.1.1 has also been integrated. In addition to platforms tested in earlier releases, we have included Windows 2008, OpenSolaris, RHEL 5, and Apache 2.2. Compare v2 and v3 to decide which one to use. See this page: https://glassfish.dev.java.net/servlets/NewsItemView?newsItemID=6876

TONY ARNOLD  Please check the comments to the original comment. It's not a problem - you just need to read the installation instructions: https://glassfish.dev.java.net/downloads/v2.1-b50.html

SCOTTDB  Or, here's the direct answer:

Using Terminal:

java -Xmx256m -jar /Users/your home folder name/Downloads/glassfish-installer-v2.1-b32-darwin.jar

This changes the amount of memory used by the installer to 256MB.

Also, you'll want to change "your home folder name" to the appropriate name, and the installer name may be different too.

TEG BAINS  GlassFish works great as an application server. It has great JavaEE 5.0 support (consider the it is the reference implementation for the specification). It works well on MacOS X and MacOS X Server
