BEZIERBOY  No problems whatsoever with version 4.18.5 on my OS X 10.5.8 Leopard system, and I've heard this version is fine on Snow Leopard as well. So ignore my ranting about version 4.18.4 :)

Gets the job done, full of features, easy to use, and I've run it for hours with no crashes. All the other file-sharing programs I've tried are either unstable, minimal and lacking features, don't get many results, or have become so dated they barely run correctly.

BEZIERBOY  You can still get 4.18.3 at http://sourceforge.net/projects/frostwire/files/

Works fine in 10.5.8 for me. Next time I won't overwrite the old version with new right away :-)

BEZIERBOY  Will not run on my 10.5.8 MacBook. Deleted prefs, ran in 32 bit mode, put in Applications folder, still locks up on launch.

Anyone else? Any reports from 10.6 users?

IGREG  I do not know if I want to use this anymore. I am afraid of the new setup window, it looks like it wants to take control of files on my computer. I decided not to complete the setup and may delete it entirely.

CASTLE ROSE  You think it's a trojan horse after you've already used FW for how long? OMG

BTW it works fine for me.

HOLYPOLY  The chat window takes years to load with this new version, and the chat option can't be turned off - it loads even if the corresponding box in "Community Chat..." is unchecked. Deleting the .plist file doesn't help. Version 4.13.1.6 didn't have this problem.

CASTLE ROSE  I don't know what computer your running FW on but it works fine for my w/o any problems. I'm using an old G4 Cube and chat opens fine, and closes correctly. Maybe the problem is that you don't have your ports and firewall setup correctly. What ever your problems are it's not the programs fault. FrostWire heeps getting better and better for me. Keep up the good work guys!

ROCKSOUNDER  The best place I have found for reviews of Macintosh software. I've been relying on "descriptions." rather than reviews, and on reviews published in magazines. It is refreshing the reactions of those who actively use the programs.
