IndigoWidget is a Mac OS X Dashboard Widget that controls Perceptive Automation's Indigo home automation software.
It provides users with a quick and convenient means to control their devices and see the state of their house. IndigoWidget will display all the devices, action groups, and variables you have configured in your Indigo software. No more need to dig for the Indigo window. Just a quick press of F12 or click on the Dashboard Icon, and you can quickly be controlling your house.
ANDREW WEBB This is a really good and useful widget. I think it is a better interface that Indigo itself. Could do with allowing the window to smaller (why do all widget developers design screens that are so huge?) and the button to turn the device on or off is miniscule. (Version 1.0)

As for the window resizing, you can shrink the window fairly small. I personally use a 12" iBook and wanted to make sure it fit without taking up too much space.
Also, you can click either on the device title, or on the device name in order to turn it on/off.

KEVIN BALLARD This sounds like a really useful widget, except it requires Indigo to exist on the local computer. I want to see a widget that lets me give it the hostname of another computer on my LAN and access Indigo across the LAN. Basically, I want to be able to control my room lights from my laptop with Indigo running on the server in my basement. (Version 1.0)
Actually, the widget supports sending commands across a LAN. Currently this isn't enabled in the UI, but is a small modification in the Javascript. The directions are on the product page (http://highearthorbit.com/software/indigowidget) and involve uncommenting several lines and putting in your Indigo computer information.
In the future I plan on moving this setting to the back of the widget.

JIM W Works as advertised. However what is not mentioned is that it automatically launches Indigo and requires it to be a running application when the widget is loaded or used. It would be a lot better if it did not require Indigo to launch and be running - i.e. do its work directly via the drivers. Note to Indigo users: by editing your devices and selecting or deselecting the remote operation checkbox at the bottom of the window, you can select which modules are listed in the widget. Please not that this affects all other remote apps as well. (Version 1.0)
Since the Widget communicates with Indigo via Applescript, the app is required to be opened to interact with the Widget.
The next version of Indigo solves this by employing a client/server architecture. This will remove the need to have Indigo "open" on the server machine for the widget to work. (Version 1.0)
