DESCRIPTION

System 47 is a "LCARS" style screen saver with various flashed-based animations.

IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM GODZFIRE: Loving this screensaver as much as I do, I was very sad when I found out that it would not install or function on 10.5 or 10.6. MeWho hasn't posted an update since mid 2006, and all attempts to contact him have failed. With what little knowledge I had, I was able to update the 'ScreenTime for Flash' installer so it now properly installs on the newer operating systems and functions when opened in the Screen Saver Preference Pane.

I take NO credit for ANY of System47 myself. Any, all, and every credit should go to the original author, MeWho. I simply made it possible for people to continue to enjoy this wonderful Screen Saver.

WHAT'S NEW
Version 2.3:
  • Now works on 10.5 Leopard and 10.6 Snow Leopard
REQUIREMENTS
Mac OS X 10.2 or later.

GODZFIRE  THIS IS A REQUEST TO ANYONE WHO WORKS WITH FLASH:

While I was able to update the screensaver and installer to current standards, I do NOT have the ability to update the flash itself at all, nor have the knowledge to do so.

Because of that, if anyone would like to donate their time to work on a possible future version, please contact me!

SILVYALVEAR  No way to download. No with Safari, no with Firefox. The downloaded file is a 47 k html. I have read the troubleshooting comment, but with not results for me.

GODZFIRE  I just tried FireFox, and it downloaded correctly for me when you right click and choose 'Save Link As'

As for Safari, I can confirm that right clicking and doing the download that way downloads an HTML page instead of the link. Try to just download it normally by clicking the download link.

PIRX  I can only download 48-53 kb of the total. It seems Firefox and SpeedDownload do not like the sapce you leave in the filename between system47 and v2.3.dmg. Otherwise I have no explanation why this download should be failing.

KRIS  Just to let you know: I am running 10.6.3 and the installer did not work properly. The screen saver would get to the side display of the ship and freeze. But what I did was I extracted the .saver file and put it where it belonged, rebooted, and it works perfectly now.

I ALWAYS wanted this screensaver!!!!!!!! And now I got it. THANK YOU!!!

GODZFIRE  That's strange, I'm also running 10.6.3, and I've never experienced that before.
