DESCRIPTION
Transmission has been built from the ground up to be a lightweight yet powerful BitTorrent client. Its simple, intuitive interface is designed to integrate tightly with whatever computing environment you choose to use. Transmission strikes a balance between providing useful functionality without feature bloat. Furthermore, it is free for anyone to use or modify. Transmission is open source (MIT license).

These days, bandwidth is a precious commodity. Transmission allows you to ration this commodity efficiently. You might want to queue your torrents for maximum performance. Or throttle their speed during peak periods. Transmission easily lets you do both, and thus only works its hardest when you want it to.

Support for Growl notifications and dock badging keep you updated with what's going on so you can get back to doing more important things.

If you are interested in helping out the Transmission project in any way, we encourage you to head over to our development page. The current developers welcome anybody who is interested in implementing new features, documentation, or translations.

LOOPER  Doesn't work on my Powermac G5 with Tiger, latest version with all software updates done. Icon bounces and never runs, this is after even AppZapping and reinstalling it.  (Version 1.20)

VERYCARLA  I had a torrent reach a 15:1 ratio and then stop, like it hit a brick wall. I cleared it and then re-downloaded the torrent file and started it again, but it won't move. I'm the only seed at this point, and it's not budging.

Has anyone else had this problem, or is it just another in an ever-growing list of bugs only I ever encounter? :)  (Version 1.20)

TVSINESPERANTO  First of all, I have to say that I love Transmission. It's the best Torrent app for the Mac hands down. It's Transmission, daylight, more daylight, and then Azureus,

However, this latest version (v1.20) is causing stability problems for me. Anyone else having problems too? In the 24 hours or so that I've had it installed, I've had 3 complete system lockups (i.e. had to restart) and I've only rarely had to do that before.

It seems to happen more often when I am using other apps at the same time (i.e. seems to run OK overnight, etc. when I am away from the Mac), apart from that, I haven't been able to discern any particular pattern.

Symptoms include system-wide crash (not just the app), can't force quit, can't launch new apps, can't quit any apps. I can switch between apps but that's all. I even tried to ssh into the machine from another mac to try to do a process kill or, failing that, a reboot command but the port wasn't responding either.

System setup is: 15" MacBook Pro 2.2Ghz Core 2 Duo, 2GB RAM, 120GB HD, Leopard (v10.5.2).  (Version 1.20)
