DESCRIPTION
Blog.Mac is the easiest way to publish your own web page or blog on your .Mac account.
Quickly create your own page, include pictures from your iPhoto albums, share your favorite iTunes playlist, pick from one of the 15 included templates, and click a button to instantly publish your new blog on the Internet. Show your readers what you are listening to with live updates from iTunes and plug in your iSight camera for live webcam snapshots published right on your blog. Blog pages are automatically converted to RSS feeds for newsreaders.
Blog.Mac is easy enough for anyone to start their own web page but is flexible enough for experienced bloggers.
WHAT'S NEW
Version 1.3b4: Updated for MobileMe integration. Fixed a few more Leopard issues and are implementing a bunch of user-requested features. The template editor has been added to Blog.Mac.

Promised for 1.1 but have not appeared. Good app could be better. It is certainlt getting there....

TAF Great App! As a new blogger, I found this easy to use, fast, and has great support. I was able to save the file locally, and upload it to my school's site--saved me hours of work. Other blog apps might be free, but you get what you pay for with this app.

G Ok, I purchased, on face value because I was impressed with the features. There are a few major problems that need to be addressed before I mofrate away from iBlog which I have used for 2 years. All posts within the blog go onto the frontpage, making the frontpage to long! Which means you have to archive all the time otherwise no one would read your blog, or they would develop RSI in the process. This software lacks categories! If you can categorise your entries, it would allow you to discuss and post on different related subjects which are not all posted to the frontpage. The iTunes integration is ver flaky, and I still can not get this software to post my iTunes list into my blog which is really annoying. It has great potential, I think I may come back in a year when it has matured into a more useable appliction.

D9 Actually iBlog does not come free w/ .Mac. A couple of years ago for a limited time, iBlog was offered free to .Mac users; but like just about all of those offers, they go away forever after about 60 days. In fact, .Mac has had little to none of these offers lately. I've tried iBlog several times and it works okay, but I had numerous stability issues not to mention the lack of real custom control. BlogwaveStudio was a great alternative but the developer took the money and ran about 3 months ago. I took the learning curve plunge and d/l wordpress and ecto to create my own custom blog. It's definitely a curve but once you get there, the real beauty and charm of a blog becomes apparent.

BROOKS KNOLL what's this all about: "HomePage found the following issues with the HTML page you chose. Please fix these issues and try again: HTML pages using framesets are not supported by the External HTML template in HomePage." ... I'm beginning to not like this software a lot.

ANONYMOUS I was very excited about this product until I spent my afternoon following their simple "create you first blog" instructions. Everytime I push the "publish to .mac" absolutely nothing happens. Maybe you'll have better luck. I think it sucks.

KAISERHEARSAY Blog.Mac is a Godsend. I've used Blogger and others, but offline updates are so tricky and haphazzard. With Blog.Mac I just use my .Mac account to generate my Blog for fellow students in my courses. I'm able to easily add posts offline while in class and upload them whem I get back to the network in the library or at home. No other software is as reliable... Blogger Word pluggins for PC (yes, I use PCs, too) often lose posts or omit headers... Blog.Mac does it right every time. I love the interface and the ease of use. And when I'm out of town, I use my iSight with Blog.Mac to keep an eye on my pets. If you're like me, you got a mac for reliability and ease of use... and that's exactly what you'll love about Blog.Mac. Apple's crazy if they don't adopt it in OS 10.5!!

EZR Try Journler with livejournal it is reliable. But I agree, Blog.Mac is pretty good for .mac, far better than iBlog. Anyway, it costs 30 bucks when Journler is free. I think Apple must add a blog function to .mac and not rely on sharewares...

ANONYMOUS $30 is a joke for a blog editor. "using a different .Mac account from the one you used to register will not work unless you purchase another key" is too restrictive, especially for $30. You'd better use Phoenix or Journler with LiveJournal: it is free!!! Blogger is pretty good too and free!!!
