JSTRAIT First off I'm using this to solve the simplification of a task that I used to have with my PC (recently moved to mac.) I used to be able to shove my CF card in the reader (a convenient window would open - wish I could get that back too as I've optioned not to show my drives on my desktop, I've got lots of them and don't want the clutter.) After copying the files I'd delete them from the CF card and yank it out of the reader. Didn't have to empty the trash or eject it, very simple and quick. So basically I want to combine the delete, empty trash and eject into one button, keystroke or icon. This may sound quite trivial but if you're doing it constantly it can be quite annoying. I also don't like completely emptying the trash all the time in case I might need to recover something. This product came close to doing this, it basically did everything it said. Well done! I was even able to drag the application icon to the finder window so it's always handy. Now if it just did two other simple things it would be perfect. 1. Delete files that are dragged into it from removable drives (not send them to the trash or create a trashes file.) 2. Close it's window once complete. Also if possible create the option to always eject removable drives once cleaned. That would be perfect. (Version 1.2.4)

ANONYMOUS Sloppy Programming! - First of all, the requirements for this shouldn't be limitted to one OS X flavour, it's such a simple task that any Mac OS X could easily handle!!! - Second, why in God's name was this compressed, you saved 190 BYTES and wasted time doing nothing virtualy! An Apple Disk Image contains only a data fork which is 'net friendly. I used DropDMG (2.74) and ended up with 120k file instead of 140! Great idea for anyone that burn's non-Mac discs like DVD movies or Audio CD's and the rest. (Version 1.2.4)

JEFF H. This app is written entirely with AS. If you think it should be done in obj-c, then by all means.... do it yourself. There are security methods, as well as more simplistic ways of doing things, that are available in only the latest version of AS. For those reasons, and a few others, the latest version of AS is required... meaning you have to have 10.4.x. (Version 1.2.4)

IKNOWWHO Yeah! and he saved 228 KILOBYTES. There, it's in caps as it must be... since you put yours in caps you must be right on that too. That, and the custom dmg method allows for a background... which has installation instructions.... for people like you. Duh.. the background image has to take up space too... I guess you think 1+1=3. Please don't respond if you say yes, save us the effort. (Version 1.2.4)

CAMáN What makes CLIX dangerous? (Version 1.2.4)
| Nov 11 2005 |
JEFF H. Please be aware that the fix for the find command has created a problem with the output information. With this version (1.2.3), only the .DS_Store files are being displayed/output on the 'Output' tab. The other files, '._*', and '.Trashes' are still being deleted, however. This the does not affect people who use the 'Live-Dangerously' option. Thanks for your patience in getting this resolved. (Version 1.2.3)

JEFF H. This issue has been resolved. The file has been re-uploaded as the 1.2.3 version. so redownloading the file will fix that problem. A new version of the app will be out soon that will also have that fix in it. (Version 1.2.3)

CROW This is an excellent application for removing these files. I work as a webmaster in a mostly Windows environment. My users are not all computer-literate, and when they use Contribute to edit their sections of the site, they see a list of files - half of which are not "real" files to them. For every web page, there is a ._ equivalent, and they are listed first. My users open those, do not get their expected page, and then call me to tell me something is wrong. Or, they complain that they have to see these files. In addition, DS_Store files present something of a security issue on a webserver, in that they can contain info about the directory structure. If you don't understand what this is for, or don't know why someone would use it - don't download it. At the very least, please keep unproductive opinions to yourself. It clutters up the reviews with unnecessary garbage. This application does what it is supposed to do, and there are people like me who appreciate it, and use it. (Version 1.2.3)

JEFF H. Those are some of the exact reasons that I developed the app to begin with. Your comments and praise are greatly appreciated. (Version 1.2.3)

SECTION 8 why would you want to delete .DS_Store files anyways, who cares if it adds 1 lousy, tiny file to each directory. BIG DEAL! The .DS_Store file stores window settings like icon size etc. for your mac, so why would you want to delete it if you are going to be using the drive again? And if your not, why do you care anyways...?? PC users are used to seeing random files all over the place, and even if one happens not to, i think they can deal with it. I mean, GUI front-ends for terminal commands are great, but I really don't understand all the flaming going on in these comments. (Version 1.2.3)

ANONYMOUS Isn't it the rule of thumb with computer is, "Don't make waves if there isn't anything wrong?" Is there anyone going to the dentist's to have some teeth pulled out when there is is nothing wrong with his teeth? (Version 1.2.2)

SABOR If you don't see a problem with these pesky files, then you do not use Windows machines besides your Mac. If that is the case, then you don't need this program, which makes me wonder why you post here in the first place if you are definitely NOT the target user for this great software. (Version 1.2.2)

ANONYMOUS Maybe you should learn why these apps are made. They are made for use on non-apple volumes like mp3-players. Always people keep nagging with this sort of apps that they are dangerous to use an not necessary. Well there is nothing dangerous about them, provided they are used by people with a brain.
