... The most handy thing ever. Instant play. It's not ubiquitous search widget, it doesn't kick you out of dashboard, it just plays the song you want and it's almost never wrong. Interested?
There are many things that you just can't do with other iTunes controllers. There are many ways to search, and even more commands that will give you the control you need from iTunes quickly. Right from Dashboard.
Be sure to explore the help file, as there are many hidden features and behaviors.
JWASHMD This is a great widget. not only will will it play songs.. It is select artists and albums. I am sitting in front of my G5 and say gee I would like to hear some "Chopin"; I type "Chopin" in the window and like snappinng your finger "Chopin" Starts playing. I have over 4000 pieces of music and this is a real asset. (Version 1.2)
THEBRIX Very useful with classical music, which often has long and awkward titles - for example, "beethoven 7" jumps to Beethoven's Seventh Symphony and is a lot easier than navigating and searching in iTunes! (Version 1.1)
MINDQUIRK HIVEBRAIN Thanks for reviewing the product. Your feedback is greatly appreciated. I'm going to take down the widget and place a link to Quicksilver. Oh, right, by the way this is different than Quicksilver, which I use frequently. Maybe I'm missing something, but try to refrain from plugging other apps that are basically unrelated. Maybe some people don't want to have Quicksilver there all the time when they just want to play a song once in a while. (Version 1.0.1)

2) it might be nice to have a list of the top 10 results of the search instead of just placing the first result.
also, why make your applescript read-only. i was curious as to whether your script could be sped up but now i'll never know. it isn't like replicating the scipt itself is difficult PLUS i am positive anyone could find a comparative script floating on the web. it seems to me like all you've done is cut off any possible help.
