DESCRIPTION
D-Subtitler is a little software which let you extract subtitles of your DVD and put it in a .srt file (which is compatible with Mplayer, Video Lan and the majority of Divx Player). To use D-Subtitler, you have to rip your DVD in your hard drive (to remove CSS protection). You can rip it in VIDEO_TS folder or in a big .vob file. Open the result of the rip with D-Subtitler, choose the subtitle track to extract and click on the green button. Warning : With some DVD, when you work with D-Subtitle from a VIDEO_TS folder, the subtitles track is not completely extracted. To fix this problem, you must rip the DVD in a single vob file (OSex or YadeX).
REQUIREMENTS
Mac OS X 10.3 or later.

LEVDR  I recently downloaded D-Subtitler, tried it out, and like it very much. After extracting quite a few subs, I quit the application. Today, I noticed that something was draining my CPU and it turned out to be D-Subtitler. Although I had shut it down a few days ago, the application was still somehow active and taking up 96, 97 % of my CPU. I tried to uninstall it by simply dragging it to the bin, but of course it wouldn't empty since it 'was in use'. I finally force quit it in ActivityMonitor. So, anybody know what was going on? I'm on an Intel iMac, using Tiger.

EARTH_COLLAPSE  Basically, I used this program running tiger, which might be the reason it's so screwy. When it attempted to convert the Image files to text, it did an awful job. Would take me days to edit the final .srt file.

If you want to add .srt files to movies, just use FFMPEGX, the greatest video converting program for mac out there. It does an excellent job.

PKA  Would you make this software able to turn off OCR processing and save subpictures as image files? If you do, there would be no need for SubRip. It's fantastic if we don't need to use SLOW SubRip on VirtualPC.

LUDOVIC PAQUOT  I only use Tiger and my beta testers too so it's not a Tiger problem.

If you can send me a mail to explain me the problem...

DESERT RAT  I'm actually having a similar problem - It goes on for a while, then asks to validate some characters, then continues with a message saying "converting pictures to text" and the little spinner goes, but the progress bar just sticks at about 3/4 done. I'm trying to pull the subtitles out of a single VOB file ripped to my hard drive.
