    ANONYMOUS  or you can type from terminal:

    defaults write com.apple.screencapture type pdf

    This changes the default to PDF; you can also use PNG, GIF, and JPG

    CF  It is pretty obvious as it says what it does "change the file format for screen capture". Just select the format you want. Anyway mine is in English and does the job.

    At any rate, this is something I've been looking for since the OS came out. Unfortunately now that Tiger uses .PNG, I don't really have a need to use it anymore...
