ITT Yes, the items are "destroyed" forever.. You can perform a simple test yourself, erase a file from an iPod or any external drive, and then simply plug the drive into a Windows machine. If you see (.thenameofyourfile) then the name has not been erased. if you dont have access to a PC, use the "show hidden files" Thanks to everyone. (Version 2.5)

DOM21 But how can we be certain the destroyed file is being overwritten X number of times. Over thirty? How do we verify it's not 3?
As for the name being overwritten, if it is simply moved to a free space the filename won't show up even by a search for invisibles - right?
Thanks for replying (Version 2.5)

ITT maybe it might be a good idea to include a realtime list message that displays the system's response to each individual shredding. It might take sometime...and there is the time delay issue. Another option is to make a log file that can be accessed by the user, which may display the above mentioned messages. thanks (Version 2.5)

MACCOOPER Seems to be an excellent program. I'm uncertain about one thing though: it's incredible speed.
In the past using other programs designed to accomplish the same result, they all seemed to take much more time to completely obliterate a file or folder, as this programs claim to do? Any reply from the developer? (Version 2.5)
