Img2icns is a simple, quick application to convert images to icons or icons to images, keeping them orderly filed and ready to use.

Creating Icon can't be easier!

We are currently offering a free lite version and a $12.90 pro version.

SIMONM  This doesn't offer any more than the free Icon Composer that comes with the developer tools. Also, version 0.51 -> 1.0 seems to have bloated significantly:

0.51: 400k

Icon composer: 800k

1.0: 6Mb!

It would be good if it did something more powerful like being able to badge folders quickly and easily in a variety of styles, but not even the paid version can do that.

MATTEORATTOTTI  Hi Simonm,

we don't believe that our product doesn't offer more than Icon Composer.

Img2icns with only 1 drag'n'drop can export your icon in many formats and apply it directly to any number of files.

Also the base version is free as Icon Composer, you can just ignore the pro version if you don't need other export formats or the history ;)

The size is bigger because it's Universal Binary (nearly double the size of the application), but the application it's fast (maybe faster) that the older versions.

Hope that this reply will clarify your doubt.

Regards

MAULRAT  Absolutely love this program. Couldn't live without it for my icon development/conversions. Well, I could but this little prog simplifies the process.

GCOGHILL  Great app, one limitation: the icons in the list view don't match the standard Leopard list view folders. I am using a standard Leopard folder PSD template, and all looks great except list view/column view/sidebar icons.

JAMESKITTY  Fed it a 512 px png file created in illustrator with transparency, it created a 512 px icon with smaller sizes embedded in it. exactly what i wanted (well, except that it skipped the 48 px size for some odd reason, but got the rest).

DRDUL  Works great. I create 256x256 pixel images in Photoshop, save them in PNG format to preserve the transparent background, then drag them onto img2icns to create perfect Mac icons. It doesn't get any simpler than that.
