THE_JUDGE_G4  It seems that this program is no longer under development seeing that it was last updated in 2006 and the dev's website no longer exists (at the time of writing).

I have been using this program for about 5 months now trying to catalog over 120+ discs worth of data compiled over the years (photos and video mainly).

It's simple to use, open the program and index your media and it's saved in the sidebar for viewing later without the media inserted.

What it lacks is the ability to renamed create a hierarchy of multiple sessions for one disc. As of this (old outdated) version, you have to catalog each session individually.

It also doesn't show any thumbnails of any of the files after indexing, which would be a great feature.

One major flaw is that it is unstable with my 120+ volumes. Numerous occasions the program has unexpectedly quit when indexing losing all the data that was indexed in that session.

All and all, with the lack of any updates since 2006 and abandonment of the website, I would not recommend this software.  (Version 1.4)

WOJTEK CH  I bought the app and the developer couldn't provide me a working serial number. I got 3 numbers and none of them worked. I tried them on 2 diffferent machines with no luck. The whole process of giving me those numbers took the developer 2 weeks. After that period I requested refund. This took next 2 weeks. My advice is to keep away from the developer.  (Version 1.4)

EVOLVE75  Nice looking application, but SLOW. I also have DiskCatalogMaker (as part of the Toast package), and this application is at least 3-4 times slower in indexing.  (Version 1.4)

SDEVO  This is a nice looking App. It has simple features for the easy cataloging of disks. I tried to use it to calalog my CD collection. I only wanted a sturdy, basic, simple to use, stable cataloger. It does OK on all the points except the crucial one of stability. This App is not very stable. It crashes often and loses all the data. In Batch index the app only seems to save the input when you quit or close down. Because it is so buggy, when it crashes you lose all your batch data. To avoid this, Click 'done' often to save the data. When starting a new index it can sometimes duplicate indexes ie; indexes a CD twice in one scan. Looks are not everything!

Personally i would use another App like CD Finder or the just released DiskCalaogMaker. Disk Tracker probably does the job, but is stuck looking like OS9. Media Calalog has the disadvantage of not having Batch indexing.  (Version 1.4)
