TNH Uses: Many external devices that use the Mass Storage profile (ex: Cameras, Mp3 players, USB keys, Portable Gaming Systems, etc) not only have no use for the .DS_Store file, but may also fail to function correctly because it, and other Filesystem artifacts are present. This is a useful tool for doing what people would have to do recursively from the command line (remove rm recursively the specific file called .DS_Store). Why this is not an option in the OS (handling of Mass Storage could be done w/ an option to not maintain finder prefs AND not transfer metadata files over further mapping per volume if requested) is somewhat bothersome. Improvements: This application would be much better if it gave you an option to erase both the .DS_Store AND the metadata ._Filename files from external volumes. Example: An example of Mac FS artifacts causing problems would be deleting an album on a Sony PSP. If the .DS_Store and the ._ metadata files are present the device will be unable to delete the album because the file is in a storage folder and the directory will not actually be empty. The damage that can be done with this application is basically limited to removing your finder view setups. .DS_Stores breed like rabbits so don't worry about them being gone. If you use column view it's a no brainer. I would give this some stars if it stated it killed metadata. Overall it is useful to those who are needlessly afraid of the command line interface (Terminal) and has some easy potential.
