DESCRIPTION
Transcriva... Whether it's your meeting minutes, interviews, lectures, home movies, dictation, speeches, or your favorite TV show, Transcriva can help you transcribe them all. You do the typing, Transcriva takes care of the rest. Transcribe media clips on your Mac or on the web. Record media on your Mac and transcribe it live or later. Changes are saved automatically, as you work. Stay organized with the Transcript Library. Associate entries with the people who spoke them. Speed sound up or slow it down without changing the pitch. Turn on "Follow-Along" mode for presentable playback. Customize keyboard shortcuts to keep control at your finger tips. Export transcripts as rich text or Word documents.

FARIBORZ  This program works as promised and is greatly enhanced over version 1 which was already a venerable application. I use it for translation purposes and think that its simplicity is a cutting edge that makes it very intuitive. I highly recommend it to everyone who earns a living on transcription. LEONCAHUN  Nice app, "Backtrack on Pause" (skips a couple of seconds backwards before resuming the file/movie/recording, in order to let you check what you have just transcribed) is brillant.

Though it is brutal on the CPU: come on, 80%+ on a 2GHz Core Duo just for playing a movie-file and letting you type (maybe it's the 'animated' counter?)?!!

That's unacceptable. Otherwise very nice.

BARTAS TECHNOLOGIES  80% CPU usage is most definitely unacceptable (and not at all how the software normally runs). Would you please contact support@bartastechnologies.com to report this (include the media file's format as well as your computer's specifications - these are critical details)? It's difficult to fix problems if they're never reported and MacUpdate's comments aren't Bartas's support channel. :-)

MATHGEEK  Version 2 was a downgrade. I have gone back to the earlier version.

BARTAS TECHNOLOGIES  It would be helpful if you could specify the reasons you feel it is a downgrade. Perhaps the problems you're having could be addressed ...? :-)
