DESCRIPTION
HexEdit is a hexadecimal file editor that handles both data and resource forks. It is the most widely used editor of its kind on the platform, and can handle file sizes of up to four gigabytes with ease, yet has memory requirements of less than a megabyte (with color turned off). It can compare whole files for similarities or differences and will soon be able to do so for any subset within the files. A great tool that allows you to edit and analyze the contents for either the data or resource fork of any type of file.

BILLY RAY VALENTINE  Great work, I use this all the time.

Would be even better with an "Open Recent" menu. :)

Thanks!

UNUSUAL FALL  Just for the record, it's not a satanic symbol. It's a hex sign, which were thought to ward off evil.

And then there's the whole hexadecimal (base 16) editor thing...

ANONYMOUS  Actually this application goes back ten years, and two or three developers or so. And this was the original 256 color 32x32 icl8 icon. (ResEdit, anyone?) This nifty looking one must have been ditched cause it looked too much like a document, rather than an application.

ANONYMOUS  Surely a better icon could be used... I'll stick with HexEditor 1.4 just so I don't have to look at this icon.
