DRDUL I use dual 30-inch monitors, and this app is a godsend! I love that it is possible to customize the overlay image. I didn't like the the colour and the fuzzy edges of the stock green one, so I made myself a new one in five minutes. Follow the link in the DMG for downloadable icons as well as instructions on making your own. @Thoth: Mouse Locator does what you want. Slide the Display Time slider all the way to the right to infinity. Now the overlay image will stay on the screen forever (beyond the maximum 9 seconds), and will disappear when you press a mouse key. (Version 1.1)

THOTH This product is quite excellent. I give it an A+. I use an obscene number of monitors and finding the cursor can be a pain. With the idleness feature, this is always easy. Here are two things I would change: - Allow for longer times before automatic fade, say up to 30 seconds. 9 is not always quite long enough. - Have a checkbox that says if you turn on mouse locator with the command-key combination, it will only fade out if you click something. Other than these two minor feature requests, I love the product. And it's free! I would have paid a couple bucks for this. (Version 1.1)

MONOCLAST I absolutely could not do without this utility. For those of us with large, high-resolution displays, it's very easy to lose track of where your cursor is on the screen. Being able to press a hot key and set an idle timer to see where the mouse is on the screen is a god-send! Thanks so much for offering this great utility to Mac users for free. We really do appreciate it! It might be nice if this application did screen dimming the way Mousepose does. But for free, I have no complaints, and I would rather it not do that if it meant it was no longer a free utility! (Version 1.1)

FRIENDLY HONK Thanks for the tip on changing the graphic! This is a great little application. I record software demos as Quicktime movies and this will make it easier for the viewer to follow along. Thanks again. (Version 1.1)

WOLFY1 Mouse Locator is fantastic! I have a 2-display system (23 and 19 inch), and was constantly hunting for the mouse pointer. Now I see it the instant I start moving the pointer - it's amazing how much faster I can work the mouse when I don't have to hunt it down. (Version 1.0)

GEORGE FLYNN Mouse locator is just what I wanted. Press a key to find the pointer or move the mouse. I think I will use the key press more than the move mouse, but both are good. I would like to find a better indicator in Appleworks 6 for the Find and Change function. Now, it just shows a little orange box, not filled in, that is almost invisible. (Version 1.0)

LOUKASH Re: "I would like to find a better indicator in Appleworks 6 for the Find and Change function. Now, it just shows a little orange box, not filled in, that is almost invisible." A workaround for that issue is to change the general highlight color in System Preferences > Appearance. What works best for me is sort of a "poison green:" R 0, G 255, B 128. (Version 1.1)

CUSH A great, easy to use app. I especially like the ability to customize the settings to suit my working style. I have been frustrated by the cursor changing from a pointer to a thin bar when in text- now it's not a problem. Also useful in graphics programs when the cursor may become a tiny crosshair if you are using certain tools/brushes. I'm on a G5 iMac running OS 10.4.1 and no stability or other problems to date. MARCINTOSH When I activated Exposé the Mouse Locator flipped out. The locator graphic showed up on the other side of the screen, but still followed mouse movements. The quick fix was just turning Mouse Locator off and back on again, but I have to do it every time I use Exposé. Otherwise, Mouse Locator is great. I especially love Trigger Delay. You don't realize how useful it is until you use it. (Version 1.0)

DDUBYAB Firstly, I must apologize to this developer! My earlier comments were not intended as a criticism of this app. in any way. It performs extremely well, flawlessly. Essentially, while Mouse Locator and Mousepose are both designed to highlight the cursor and it's immediate environ they have a fundamental difference in terms of purpose. (Version 1.0)
