DESCRIPTION

WinFSCleanser deletes those pesky '._' resource fork files from a chosen folder, found on some filesystems, which the user defines. Can delete other Mac and Windows invisible files too.

Caution: removes colored labels and custom icons (and probably more). Current list of file types that can lose this resource fork are listed as defaults. Thanks to Bernard Rey for the French localization. And thanks to Christopher Price: official Universal Binary tester. If you use WFSC on a regular basis, please consider donating via the "Obtain Serial" menu item under the "File" menu. There are so many bits and pieces of so many other scripts that I can't remember them all. So I thank you if something you did is in here.

    BMEEKS24  This is just what I needed. I used some crappy folder sync program that hosed my external drive and filled it with "._" files... This was able to clear it right up and get all those junkies outta there.

    PETER DA SILVA  Beware, if you brought over any "Classic Carbon" apps from an older Mac because they still run under Rosetta, or any old classic Font files, removing the resource fork WILL destroy them.

    CHRIS  I use everyday a USB Flash Drive to transfer data between my home Mac and my school PCs. This script have solved in great part my greatest problem: invisible Mac files!

    If it could also remove Thumbs.db, index.dat, .DS_STORE and other Win and Mac invisible files, this would be a dream come true on my USB key!

    Suggestion for the author: Include a way for the user to set default behavior. For example, I would like to be able to use this script just by double clicking on it so it would automatically recognize my drive by it's name and do it's job, no question asked.
