DESCRIPTION
URLwell is a great place to stash all those URLs you find in emails or on web sites that you just don't have the time to look at now.

Just drag the link to URLwell's menu bar icon and it's saved. When you look at it, it can be removed from the list, or if you prefer, it'll just be checked off to mark that you've seen it, and remain in the list.

WHAT'S NEW
Version 1.2.1:
  • Works with OmniWeb once again.

REQUIREMENTS
Mac OS X 10.3 or later.

OLIVIER  URLWell is very good, but has one pretty big inconvenient: it seems to only store the urls on disks when you log out. As i stay logged in for weeks, i lose all my urls on urlwell when the system crashes (which happens all too often). :-(

Once this is fixed, URLWell will be almost perfect!

SCOTT GARDNER  looks helpful. but i just created a "temp" folder on my bookmarks bar, and i park temporary sites there (using safari's menu or drag and drop, eg, from an email). that way, i can quickly search them, or i can open them all up in tabs from time to time and clean house.

E  I found this via macosxhints some time ago and I must say that I find URLwell to be invaluable. I am one of those people who will drag links to the desktop if I want to read them or return to them later, and I used to have URLs pile up on my desktop constantly. Since I downloaded URLwell, my desktop now stays a heck of a lot cleaner than before.

The only problem I had with it (v1.1) was if I dragged a URL from Camino to it, the URL would show up in the menu and not the name. Now with v1.2 that seems to be fixed. Thanks a lot!

ANONYMOUS  Whoops, there's one more new feature I forgot about: There's now a preference for whether URLs you drag onto the menu bar icon get added to the beginning or the end of the list.

ANONYMOUS  Excellent app--I was using the dock to accomplish this before, but this is much more intuitive. I just have one request--the ability to rename a link instead of create an entirely new one. Firefox/webloc titles do not carry over when dragged to URLwell, so the title ends up being only the URL, so I have to add each link by hand just to have a title.

ANONYMOUS  Editing items just missed the cut for 1.2 (there were a bunch of people asking for NNW support and I wanted to get it out there.) Barring major problems, it'll be in the next version for sure.

    ANONYMOUS  .

Excellent update. This is the type of software and developer I really enjoy. You are filling a need and responding to user feed back. We all appreciate it.

I love just having a quick place to drop in a URL instead of my desktop cluttering it up with links, or keeping them in a folder.

Thanks, and keep up the great work!

    P.S.

You need a groovy icon. ;)
