Sun Spotter is a simple tool for amateur astronomers and anyone interesting in the Sun. Sun Spotter displays the latest images of the Sun at the SOHO web site. Images can be saved to the Desktop as required.
Sun Spotter is designed to be quicker and easier to use that visiting the SOHO page directly. Keyboard shortcuts make it easy to toggle between the views, and buttons take you to the relevant web pages to find out more about what you're looking at. Additional links take you to supplementary SOHO pages including the SOHO Classroom.
APEMAN It works well on Leopard. It does what it says it would do.
Thanks
I've been suffering through the loss of Solscape when I upgraded to Leopard. Sun Spotter doesn't do all that Solscape does, but that's OK. I like it. (Version 2.3)
NEALE MONKS Of course. And the application Read Me says as much! But if you're an amateur astronomer (like me) who likes to view the Sun through a telescope, being able to quickly toggle between different solar views via keyboard shortcuts is actually very useful. (Version 2.0.1)
I don't use Stuffit Expander, but The Unarchiver...
Much better program if you ask me, but apparently doesn't work with Sun Spotter...
Well.. I have to download SE then, right? :) (Version 2.0)

NEALE MONKS Well, I've re-stuffed the archive with another program, and it looks/works fine for me. I've made a .zip archive for the Mac version anyway, and that should be the one linked next time MacUpdate updates this entry. So maybe no more Stuffit problems...? (Version 2.0.1)
