RPPHOTO  This would be a perfect app for senior portrait photographers since the requirements for sizing, etc. are similar to making a passport. There are so many senior photographers (one of the biggest public photo markets) that adding comments and options to that market would greatly increase the market appeal of this app.

PAUL COOK  For U.S. Passports, there is a nice guide to how your picture should look at:

    http://travel.state.gov/passport/guide/composition/composition_874.html

They suggest that the centerline for the eyes should be 1-1/8" to 1-3/8". They suggest that the face should be about 1" to 1-3/8" in size. And that the total picture should be 2" square.

After playing with PassportPicture for about an hour, it looks like it will do a good job with the last requirement. And it will help with the second. But it provides nothing for the first.

It would be nice if the developer could add a couple of guidelines to aid in meeting the first requirement. And it would be nice if you could have at least two of both the existing square and the new guidelines. That way, one could express a range. I.e. the face should fill the inner square, but not exceed the outer.

This program isn't bad. But with just a few minor enhancements, it could be great!

CULTURE OF ONE  Great concept, but Canadian users beware: this app comes a few years too late for us. Our passport photos must be taken and certified by a professional photography studio, or they aren't valid. Gone are the days when you could provide your own photo or get one done at a photo booth; now everything has to be done through recognised studios. This is as a result of stringent requirements from US Homeland Security - they've been rejecting photos that don't meet there exacting specifications. I don't know how this might affect users in the USA or elsewhere - perhaps they allow you to get a photo notorised South of the border.

This app is still worth a try, though, if you're going to be making photo IDs for an event or business.

ISKIPPY  I was actually going to mention the exact same thing, as my folks had to do this recently when going on vacation (and, of course, I volunteered to help them fill out their applications online). FYI: Costco has very reasonable prices for passport photos if you're a member.

::MILE::  Much better in this new version...! It would have been nice though to have more presets (German passport, driver licence, UK documents etc.) instead of having to create those yourself, but anyway...

Localization (German/French at least) would be a nice touch as well and why doesn't it support standard keybord commands such as cmd-W for closing the active window -- instead of always being forced to click on a 'close' button...?! This should be basic stuff actually...!!

XYPHER  The improvements are very nice. I need a U.K passport template however. That would make it even better.

FISHNCHIPS  Not sure why the other comments are so negative. I can't be bothered to build a photoshop template and this is an OK price! Admittedly, it could have the following features IMHO:

    1. Save to JPG/PNG

    2. Adjust brightness, saturation, etc.

With number 1, you could always print to PDF...

4 stars from me. Keep adding more features!

CHEES  I don't know what was I thinking to buy this software. If you don't have a descent photo printer at home, this software is USELESS!

You cannot output to anything but printer.

DO not buy this. Use photo shop.

NIMBUS23  Only output option is to send to printer. Why can't I save the edited/cropped photo to a file? That way, I could take it on memory stick and print it anywhere - photo kiosks at Kinkos, Walgreens, Target, etc.

MOK.IN.TOUCH™  Come on, It take 3 minutes or less to make a template from Photoshop for printing passport photo. I don't see any reason this software can cost $15.00

How many times would you use it in 5 years for yourself? Once? For $15.00? Cost less to go to the professional photographer to do it.

Anyone needs one? I'll make the templates for him/her...free!!! No bull.
