EDITOR NOTES
The Professional version costs $69.90.
DESCRIPTION
Neat Image is a digital filter plug-in designed to reduce visible noise and grain in digital photographic images. It is a tool for owners of digital cameras, flatbed and slide scanners; and is for use by both professional photographers, and digital image processing enthusiasts.

Neat Image not only reduces the high ISO noise associated with image sensors (CMOS, CCD) in digital cameras and scanners, it can also reduce the film grain visible in scanned slides and negatives, JPEG artifacts of overcompressed images, and color banding, and at the same time makes images sharper. Neat Image is indispensable in low-light, sport, and action photography.

SIR CHARLES  Can I, or can I not, batch Neat Image filtering to multiple RAW/JPG files under PhotoShop Elements 6? Is there, or is there not, a standalone Neat Image program to do this for Leopard, as there is with SilkyPix? Are you, or are you not, developing this capability for the Mac? This request, on your forums, goes back to Aug 25, 2006.

I have to add that this software seems exceptional, but I am a PE 6 user and no batch capability looks like a deal breaker.

SIR CHARLES  Had email communication with developer, who was exceptionally responsive, courteous, and informative. There is no batch ability in PSE 6 (because PSE 6 has none) and there currently is no standalone app. NI's design philosophy of camera profiles and dynamic image profiles sure makes sense, though. I have made some suggestions regarding the Last Filter settings and I will report back when I hear from them. Hard not to like these guys. ;)

FLYING ACE  It's a bit misleading when you say "Demo product is free for non-commercial use". It still has a 1024 x 1024 limitation which I didn't see mentioned anywhere, except after I had downloaded it and tried it on a larger image.

VLAD-NEATIMAGE  The size limitation is specified in featuremap: http://www.neatimage.com/mac/featuremap.html

The size limitation still allows to use the filter on any selected region of of interest in the image.

Anyway, thank you for the comment. We will add one more link to the featuremap to make that limitation more clear.

    Kind regards,

    Vlad

MOK.IN.TOUCH™  Please be more specific on 'Requirements'. This version 4.3 does not show up in Photoshop 7.0.1

Are you going to fix it?

VLAD  We have just added a direct Contacts link to the webpage so it is now visible from everywhere on Neat Image webpage.

Also, please start from http://www.neatimage.com/mac/ and you will only see two versions of Neat Image plug-in for Mac: Demo and Pro. Demo is free, Pro is a commercial product.

If you switch to the Windows section of the webpage then you will see more variations of Neat Image for Windows (you are probably not interested in those).

Thank you once again for your comments that help us to make Neat Image better for you.

    Kind regards,

    Vlad

ANONYMOUS  Absolutely one of the worst product websites ever visited. Trying to figure out how much the different flavors cost as well as having a simple e-mail link to the developer is hideously difficult to find. This guy may have nice products but he needs to get a grip and simplify his site.

SIR CHARLES  Sadly as of this posting the website remains very obscure. I have spent several hours trying to determine how to batch Neat Image to multiple files in PhotoShop Elements 6.0. I had to go to forums to (I think) understand that their mention of a standalone program, which isn't mentioned on their Features page, only runs on Windows. At least I think that is the case.

T  Simply the best! Removes noise while keeping the sharp image alone. Very effective and simple to use. Uses profiles so noise removal is adjusted to your specific camera or scanner.
