DESCRIPTION
PresButan is a program that lets you use the return and/or enter keys to open files in the Finder rather than rename them, like in Windows. Recently in version 1.2 it also lets you use either of the delete keys to automatically delete Finder items if you really want it to.
WHAT'S NEW
Version 1.2: Now a universal binary! By popular demand, I added feature for being able to delete items in the Finder by pressing either delete or forward delete. Also a bug where PresButan will stop working if the Finder crashes was fixed.
REQUIREMENTS
Mac OS X 10.4 or later.

GREATOE  Seems not working good in Snow Leopard, any update? Can't live without PresButan.

ANONYMOUS  Hooray! Thanks for this software. There used to be a freeware extension in 7 that would let me do this on my Powerbook...how I've missed it.

The readme file was particularly clear.

ANONYMOUS  Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!

Although cmd+o or cmd+[down-button] isn't THAT hard, it's still better to be able to open a file/folder by pressing enter, the way it SHOULD be.

    Thanks again!

ANONYMOUS  why would you want to initiate a potentially VERY expensive operation like opening a file by a bare keypress?

this is one of the worst ui blunders of windoze, and it's all dos' fault.

LECTRICK  The way it "SHOULD" be? I think that's relative. If you started out on Macs like you SHOULD have, then you would be trying to use cmd-down or cmd-up in windoze ;)
