TSBECKER I just happened to notice that a Daylite plugin is now included and I thought other Daylite users might like to know. I really appreciate this since I no longer have to go through contortions to get matching groups in address book. Now I can just select some contacts in Daylite and send them to Mailings. SADCASE Spot on! A great piece of software which does what it's designed to do very well. One plus point is that you can try it without limit for 10 days - which allows you to properly evaluate the software, rather than being limited to a paltry 10 contacts which gives you no idea how the software will perform when sending a newsletter to 700+ contacts. The 'Apple-like' interface, Dreamweaver, Mail and Address Book integration, and a logical, well-thought-out workflow were just the icing on the cake. Oh, and the price is first rate. Keep up the good work! (Version 1.9.38)

TRONDAH I'm very satisfied with MaxBulk Mailer, which is also available for Windows. It's the perfect app for sending bulk mailings. And no I'm not the author. (Version 1.9.29)

A products support for Windows should not be considered an asset for Mac users. The Mac offers unique technology I choose to adapt and support because I love the Mac for its unmatched technology. I only develop for the Mac, and have done so for the past ten plus years. And, I wouldn't dream of supporting dual platforms because that necessarily implies compromises which hurt the Mac user.

JIMW I have received a very courteous replay back from the developer, after posting my review, indicating he was indisposed for a period of time and indicting that he intends to improve the support of the product in the future. I would welcome any comments in regards to the support experiences of the product from other users for review. If the developed does what he says and the evidence appears here, I would be happy to rewrite my review or provide an update which would reflect the improved support. In regards to functionality: I look forward to re-reviewing the product should the functionality significantly change. (Version 1.9.26)

JIMW Unfortunately, while the product has some unique and useful features, support for the product (e-mail only) has generally been abysmal. Here is why: After researching a number of products for someone to whom I provide free support to for their organization, I suggest this product as a bulk mailer for simple text messages and attachments. We paid our shareware fee and started using the product. Unfortunately the documentation leaves much to be desired, so getting it to work involved a lot of trial and error. In the process we ran into a number of bugs, which eventually got fixed. Support for the product seems to be a mixed bag at best. Sometimes we get a helpful response, sometimes we don't. Our most recent experience is that we initially got a acceptable response but then when the initial suggestions failed to work we were abandoned. Finally after several frustrating days of continual failures to get the product to work properly, we finally figured out what was wrong and got it to work - without any help from the developer as a continual stream of emails were never responded to or acknowledged. Troubleshooting this product requires sophisticated experience as errors messages are encoded as cryptic codes that have no reference. Again, the developer ignored a request as to what the error codes mean. Only by going through the Mac console log were we able to get a clue as to what the problem was and figure out a solution on our own. When the product works, it works well, but it can be very finicky, In my opinion, especially given its level of support and limited documentation, it is not a product suitable for the inexperienced user. For these reasons, I cannot recommend this product for a general audience. If you are looking for a bulk mailer, I would research its alternatives and only choose this one if you can't find a better one that meets your requirements. This product has promise, but right now, I do not believe it is ready for 'Prime Time." (Version 1.9.26)

I am very sorry for your problems with the program, but mail servers are trying to combat spamming, and I believe that this is frequenty the problem with getting a mailing to work sometimes. In this case I made numerous attempts via email to help you. I suppose you became disgruntled when my responses were not spontaneous enough :-) But more often than not users are quite satisifed with my reponse time. Finally I'd like to point out that the program is certainly ready for prime time, having many satisfied users, and has been in existence for 3 years. Your attempt to drive people away from using it by writing this review is unfortunate, because a lot of work went into Mailings in that 3 year period, and more is yet to come.

JIMW As I personally replied in more detail to your email to me today (the only one I ever received) the issue was NOT the servers that was causing the key problem, it was Mailings, dealing with the message being sent, which I fixed within Mailings message area. I am not trying to "drive people away" but only wish to relate my experiences with your product so they can make an informed purchase decision. As a said in my review, when it works, it works well but it can be challenging to set it up for proper operation. I rated support as poor, due to the fact that there was no response for almost a day during which time, a continuing issue from the previous day was attempting to be resolved and support is only available via email with no response time parameters. HOODENKIY oh if you could only imagine how hard it was to send html emails to my friends. since i work with orphan kids there are always so many pics and stories hind those. so i really like to make a nice-looking layout and simply send it to my friends. the great thing that i like about Mailings is that it supports HTML code. so i always hear back from my friends how excited they are and happy for the work that i do. thank you Mailings. _RONDYKES great app. with some really excellent features. The developer has been incredibly responsive to emails (responded to all my emails within hours).recently i shot him an email asking about a feature that i wished to see in the app and if it was in the plans for future versions. He offered to write it into the app and send me a pre release the next day, which he did and it worked perfectly. i cannot image better support than that. support this development, it is well worth it. SPLORP Unfortunately, Mailings does not support the combined sending of plain text and HTML formatted e-mail using multi-part MIME encoding. That makes it a no-go for me. Looks solid enough for rich content e-mail on its own... but I hate to leave any potential recipient off the list. Some folks still have text-only e-mail clients... really. (Version 1.6.3)

Mailings does indeed support the sending of plain text and html using multi-part mime. The feature is called a "Plain text alternative" which can be added to any HTML based email using the "Open message editor..." button at the top of a Mailer window. After you click that pop-up select "Plain text alternative" and type your plain text message into the text field. The message you enter will be included in the email message as a new mime part.
