STEVE HODGSON  Like other reviewers here, I am wary of recommending this application because of the ping and curl requests it sends out. I have tried to contact the developer to ask why this is necessary on the basis that if I understood what was happening I would continue to use the app. I have never had a response so I use this app as little as possible, consider it to be seriously flawed and could not recommend it unless one had a pressing need for something of this type.

I reckon that there is an opportunity here for a nice little app to clear Mac-specific files from removable media before ejecting. I constantly use media that will be used on Windows or other FAT formatted devices and find it frustrating to see these ‘hidden’ files.  (Version 1.9)

PEEBLE  I agree with "unknown" 100%.

BEWARE of using this app. It "phones home" AFTER asking for your password.

@VIVA - did you even READ the comment below yours? I'l quote it for you shall I:

"Denying the request via Little Snitch results in ping hanging around in the background and effectively crashing the app, which won't relaunch until said ping is force quit from Activity Monitor."

    The same happens to me.

I'll re-quote the salient part here again (in case you missed it) ;-)

    "...and effectively crashing the app"

So NO, you CANNOT use this app even with Little Snitch installed as it simply crashes when the phoning is denied.

I am now looking for a freeware/donationware alternative as I do not like keeping security risk / crashing software on my mac.  (Version 1.9)

VIVA  Finder Cleaner does exactly what it is supposed to. It is reliable but has to be used with caution - it does execute destructive file manipulations, that's what it is for. To all comments complainig about the app having caused troubles: RTFM! And, btw, you can disallow it to phone home for updates (with Little snitch, for example) and it works well nonetheless.  (Version 1.9)
