DESCRIPTION
SpamX makes reporting spam as easy as hitting 'Delete'. It claims to block 99% of all spam and lets anyone report spammers' sources AND their websites with a single click.

You can get a FREE registration if you discover something that will help the developer make SpamX even better. Send an email using the email address listed in the 'About' or 'Help' menus from within the program for support questions.

WHAT'S NEW
Version 4.0:
  • FINALLY, SpamX has a setup helper [SetupWizard] to walk through the setup with you and make it easier!. There is a link on the homepage and it starts automatically the first time SpamX is run.
  • All spam checking modes now store the Unique Message Identifiers (UIDLs) the mailservers assign to messages. If you are one of those who leaves messages up on the mailserver, this new addition will keep SpamX from having to check and recheck the same messages over and over again in Scheduled or Manual modes and can also help in Proxy mode if there is an email client timeout condition with a large amount of mail on the server. Emails will be checked twice, then never again in Scheduled or Manual modes and are checked once only in Proxy mode. The improvement in performance is dramatic when there is a lot of mail on the server.
  • Numerous additions to de-obfuscating links [URLs] in the spam body have been added.
  • A few minor bug fixes.

L008COM  Extremely Unintuitive. Very hard to use. And ugly java interface. I don't know who really owns the SpamX name but I'll tell you, both apps suck ass.

ANONYMOUS  Not to be confused with SP@MX. SP@MX is far more Mac friendly as compared to this Windows centric application. A trainwreck.

Also, after looking up the SPAMX trademark through TESS, the SPAMX name is owned by the maker of SP@MX and not this group.

Can you trust a company that infringes on another's trademark so blatantly?

ANONYMOUS  Not "WinDoze-centric", "Java-centric" and written that way such that pre-OS X users can also take advantage of spam reporting.

Check the uspto.gov website for SpamX - If one looks closely, one will find that SpamX is NOT a registered trademark to anyone - applied for, yes, registered, NO. What IS true is that this SpamX has been in commercial use since 2001 and that the _other_ SpamX is trying to _steal_ the name. The simple fact is that the _other_ author is preemptively claiming that they own a trademark when, in fact, they do not and, clearly, they should have the intelligence to _know_ it. Would _you_ trust someone like THAT?

It has also been reported to me by outside, independent sources, that the _other_ SpamX sends reports to the owners of IP addresses in _forged_ header lines which adversely impacts spam reporting everywhere.

ANONYMOUS  Good lord, what a wreck of a user interface. It looks like Windows 3.1 and System 6 had a brutally retarded child.
