    *....

ANONYMOUS  German vowel mutaions (ä,ö,ü) aren't displayed correctly.

A feature like "show original" (Cmd-R in iTunes) is missing.

Not informations on the files (length etc.)

Not all podcasts are downloaded. Moreover I can't determine which casts have already been downloaded.

Genre in iTunes appears as "PodCast", what's that supposed to mean?

Display useless error messages like "Can't make file "Spin:Users:kuddel:Desktop:test:A_Study_in_Scarlet_part_14

    .mp3" into a alias. (-1700)"

File extension ".mp3" missing in some cases.

Main window not resizable, welcome to a century where displays may be larger than 9 inches.

Overall rating for the current version: Useless, not worth 5 USD.

STEVE HUFF  this program looks better than other Podcast clients i've seen. however, there's one showstopper problem for me: PoddumFeeder doesn't correctly route its URL requests through the proxy server configured in my Network Location. this leads me to believe that the developer is not using the Cocoa URL Loading System properly; documentation is available here:

ANONYMOUS  This software is completely built with AppleScript--most of that document seems to be for "real" programming. If we're way off base, let us know and we will look further into it: staff@ifthensoft.com.

JON MADDOX  wow, my first comment was erased. I guess the developer didnt like what i had to say.

Once again, i will repeat, don't call it a donation to unlock features. MAYBE if you just had a nag screen and a "donation" got rid of that, i'd understand. But what you want users to do is REGISTER. I really do find it insulting for you to ask for a donation while withholding features from users.

Just call it that. A donation is given to open source free (as in beer) software.

Other than that, the app looks great. Its nice to have a REAL cocoa iPodder application. I just wish the developer was more with the community of it all and offered the application for free.

It IS 0.1 software. Why would i pay for .1 software.

IF THEN SOFTWARE  Woah--I didn't delete anything! I know nothing about any previous comments.

Anyhow...I guess there is some sort of distinction between donations and registering--I really didn't sit and think about it that closely. I thought by putting that right in the description, it would be pretty clear. It is donationware, it is getting better and a new version will be out any day. If you don't want to register (or donate) you can still use the software, but you are limited to 3 subscriptions.

We are fully available for comments at staff@ifthensoft.com should you wish to continue this discussion. We also have a built-in bug reporter in the software, feel free to use it.

ANONYMOUS  Let that be a lesson to you, developer. Get even the slightest difference between donation and licence wrong, and the near-fanatical concern with semantics (free speech vs free beer, etc.) of millions of open source/firefox developing geeks will pretty much crucify you on the spot.

Unfortunately for the OS geeks, it's quite clear from your description above what's available before and after you pay money, regardless of the term you used. Let them stew around a bit, by I myself wouldn't worry too much about it.

ANONYMOUS  FYI, you should learn to comprehend what you read.

"The term "podcasting" was coined by Dannie J. Gregoire and made popular by former MTV VJ and Dutch weblogger Adam Curry's original ipodder script."

So, some person coined the term, and Adam Curry created the original script. Therefore podcasting was theoretical until Adam Curry invented/created the original script.
