APPTRACTIVE  Nothing fishy here: InvisRay has been around since September 2004. If anything, Afloat was a clone of InvisRay. (And both InvisRay and Afloat are just fancy clones of similar Windows hacks.)

Furthermore, InvisRay 2.0 and the FocusRay feature have been waiting to be cleaned up and released for at least a year now; I had never heard of Afloat until after InvisRay 2.0 was already out. Though some of their functionality overlaps, I believe they're still two very different products.

Thanks,

- David

APPOLYON  I really dig InvisRay. If you haven't tried it out yet you should at least once.

One question though... why does this download a prefpane that says it's version 1.0?

APPTRACTIVE  Seems I made a mistake with the version number when building the latest PrefPane. Not worth releasing 2.0.2 for, though it is a bit embarrassing for people who like to Get Info on their PrefPanes.

**...

BUMBLEB  This is one irritating thing to boot.

First it worked ok, then it kinda like hung and did not switch back my apps transparancy to a normal state, even though the individual app is selected.

So, I unstalled it, and now have to log out before the damn thing is quit.

Very irritating for a multitasker like me, having all my wor-related apps open with multiple documents etc.

And on a sidenote, since it only works with cocoa-apps, half of the apps are unaffected, so maybe the purpose of this app is... pointless?

Sorry I'm harsh, but if only this thing either worked, or was painless to quit.

(PS: Yes I did try to unenable it, but to no avail)

APPTRACTIVE  Sorry for any trouble you had with removing it, but altering code in a lot of applications at once is bound to cause problems. I skip all that by just telling users to log out instead of accidently crashing everything while to unload InvisRay at runtime.

As for your first problem, did you try using the InvisRay menu or F-Keys to make the window more opaque manually? It's possible that something accidently activated the More Transparent option, making the window seem to be permanently faded.

MacUpdate's review section doesn't make a great support forum: If you still want to get this resolved, I'd recommend you email support@apptractive.com, and we can try to get this fixed faster.

Thanks!

ANONYMOUS  This is really cool to be able to have multiple windows open and see through them. Also to type a document and have a web page open overtop that is transparent and everything is visible at once.
