CREEPSTER  Time for an update. Icons for speed and such now flash and hitting the N key really screws things up.

ZO219  A competely enthralling ... game, I guess it is ... for my gifted grandson, age 5 ... a unique experience, well-thought-out, much loved. A new release, with new features, is a huge event. We thank you! SteamTRAIN looms very large in his life!

ZO219  My grandson is mad for this - um, game?

BUT. . . it uses up all active RAM on my GB powerbook! - and $25 is too much - and it says $20 on the front page.

I'm most concerned about that eating up max cycles. Leftover OS 9 resources in there? Whatever, clean it up.

SteamTRAIN (ST) developer here. When I click through on my web-site NostWare.com to KAGI, the price shows $20 US (not $25), which it's been for over half a year. Are you talking about exchange rates, sales tax, or value-added-tax?

When I run ST under Apple's activity monitor, I get the following:

    85 MB Real Memory

    251 MB Virtual Memory

    62 to 82 % CPU

This is on an iMac G5 1.8 MHz with 512 MB RAM under OSX 10.3.9. Most of ST was developed on an iMac G3 400 MHz where it preferred an 800x600 screen. There should be no Classic code left.

ST is fairly resource intensive as a lot of floating point calculations are made regarding Loco/Train dynamics. Near the end of my ST HELP information, I recommend Thousands-of-Colors -- not Millions -- and to close other running applications. Just my suggestions.

I'm glad to hear that your grandson likes SteamTRAIN. Mine does too!

L008COM  As a game its a little too basic, and gets boring quick. But, this would make a real kick ass screen saver. Mac goes to sleep, and the trains start thundering along!!!

WYNN MYERS  I have a young son who will love this one.

It's not too complicated. Seems to run fine under Tiger.

Hope it evolves to 3D in the future.

BOB  A fun time waster. $25 seems way too much for what you get. Would like to see a variety of trains with different scenery. The NoLimits Simulator (Roller Coaster) is far superior for the same money.

IRONHORSEJOHN  Wow. That wooden roller coaster is beautiful. However, some progress has been made in the last year. SteamTRAIN is now cheaper.
