Microsoft AutoUpdate for Mac... AutoUpdate for Mac
Keep your software up to date automatically with Office AutoUpdate for Mac. AutoUpdate comes with Office so there’s nothing additional to install, and you can also use it to manually check for new downloads as well. This update to Microsoft AutoUpdate for Mac is part of Microsoft's continued effort to provide the latest product updates to customers. To receive future Office 2008 updates, you must install this update.
GWHJELM Micrsoft updater doesn't work in my computer. I have a Mac Pro with a OXS 10.5 sytem that I use professionally for Photography. This system has professional applications like Adobe CS3, Realviz 5.6, Lightroom 1.1 and alot of other programs that are updated through an Automatic Updater. Yours (micrsoft) doesn't work. When the Updater gives you the first screen it wants to know if you want the update, and I mark yes in the box. Then it asks me for my authentication and I do that, and then it asks for to close the following programs and I do that. From this point the updater will not work and no methodology will get it to work. This is disappointing, because I use this program for so much in my business, but not if it is going to fail. Either allow the updates or I wil be forced to find another program that I can depend upon. (Version 2.1.1)
Microsoft site says, "Applies To: Developer Tools, Microsoft Office Word, Microsoft Expression, Microsoft Word 2008 for Mac, Microsoft Office PowerPoint, Microsoft Office Excel, Microsoft Office, Office, Microsoft Entourage, Microsoft Office 2008 for Mac, Microsoft Entourage 2008 for Mac, Microsoft Excel 2008 for Mac, Microsoft PowerPoint 2008 for Mac"
TJZEE Didn't dig far enough. Thanks. (Version 2.1.1)

K0GG MacUpdate have updated the description now from "To receive future product updates, you must install this update." to "To receive future Office 2008 updates, you must install this update." ...a bit of a difference!

LAMBCHOP I still am unable to install this recent MS update. Followed all suggestions: "Help" > "Updates" after opening up Word. Screen stated that there are NO UPDATES at this time. I then went into Applications>MS Updates and got the SAME message. I bought my Macbook & MS Office for Mac 2004 on Dec. 5. 2007. Am I even eligible to receive an MS 2008 upgrade? Is this AutoUpdate 2.1.1 solely available for MS 2008? From what I have read, users who have MS 2004 seem to be able to download it. HOW??????? TX 4 any/all advice :) (Version 2.1.1)
And it says so on the MacUpdate product page for MS AutoUpdate. (Version 2.1.1)

LAMBCHOP Then why does my dashboard widget "application update" advise me to update to this version if it knows that I have MS 2004 installed on my computer? Once again, am I eligible to receive an upgrade from MS or Apple for MS 2008 since I purchased everything on Dec 5, 2007? Appreciate your time by answering my queries. (Version 2.1.1)
