DESCRIPTION
1001 is a desktop client to be used in conjunction with Flickr, the online photo-sharing website.
1001 not only uploads photos to your Flickr account, it notifies you anytime new photos from either your contacts, everyone, or your favorite tags are uploaded.
1001 allows you to step into the stream of photos passing through Flickr and to quickly see what's new at the moment. Just run the app in the background and if triggered, 1001 pops up a small unobtrusive window to notify you of new photos.

THIRSTYROBOT Excellent value and well worth supporting with donations. (Version 1.0.6)

PLOINKR Very nice with lots of functionality. I like how you can "select all" your pictures and add the same title, tags, etc. to all of them. A few glitches here and there: "Switch user" doesn't seem to work (had to trash prefs to do that) and adding tags within the app sometimes results in duplicate tags. (Version 1.0.6)

BEBDABHRHBRWEFG 3R§5Y5H4WTEDSFB doesn't really offer much more in the way of functionality than flickr uploadr - OK there is the 'photostreams' feature but, really, who's going to bother with streaming flickr photos to a desktop app, when you can go online and do it. this app needs to offer better uploading and saving features than flickr's own free uploader - and quite smply, it doesn't! BUMBLEB You're pretty mad at a free app... How come? Anyway, 1001 works great for me, and indeed it does have some nifty features compared to Flickr Uploadr. For example you can reuse your tags, which is a huge timesaver. The photostream feature bugs me though. I don't find a need for it, and would wish it was removed from the app to make it leaner and faster and easier to use. (Version 1.0.6)

BEBDABHRHBRWEFG 3R§5Y5H4WTEDSFB "pretty mad?" - i thought i made a fairly neutral comment? anyway, the ability to add tags may be one 'extra' that this app offers over and above flickr uploadr, but that's really not much, is it? at the very least this app should offer the ability to save a partially completed album, so i can return to it later. i once made the mistake of assuming it would do so, and closed an album of a couple of hundred photos i was preparing, to finish later and was horrified when i reopened 1001 to see i'd lost all the tags comments and descriptions i'd painstakingly entered for about 100+ images. i'm sure people will queue up to call me foolish for assuming 1001 would 'save state' - but what kind of app blithely throws away all your hard work when you shut it down, without even warning you? [BTW - i'm not singling out 1001 here. the official flick uploadr app does exactly the same thing - f**kin' unbelievable!] (Version 1.0.14)

BUMBLEB You're right, I reread your original comment, and see that you were not that angry at all. I must have had a simultaneous verbal fight going with my girlfriend, which ended targetting you, because of a brain mishap on my part. Entschuldigung-) (Version 1.0.14)

What a cool and useful application. Been using Gleam, but it's dog slow on my iMac G5, so I started looking for alternatives and found 1001. Happily I discover it has many features that will let me work faster and more efficiently. Especially the way I can tag images, and send them to groups, before uploading them. Revelation. http://www.flickr.com/photos/olivernielsen (shameless plug I know;-) (Version 1.0.6)

CAMáN Don't like the "new feature", the requirement to reg. with yahoo in order to get the app to work. To me that is not a free app. I presume that I will get offers and e-mails from Yahoo and I will not have it, thank you very much. (Version 1.0.1)

ALEXIUS Moron. This has to do with the Flickr API and nothing to do with 1001. (Version 1.0.1)

~HELL Well, exactly right. This has to do with Flickr itself. You are going to have to do that in every app you use with Flickr from now on. Thank you very much. (Version 1.0.3)

ANONYMOUS I would love to be able to comment/read comments. Further, there are no set or group functions to arrange my photos or include them in a group. This is rather a viewer than a flickr management tool. (Version 1.0b39)

ADRIAAN That's right. It's an uploader/viewer and not a management tool. Maybe I didn't make that clear enough in the description. (Version 1.0b39)

PETER J. PEDERSEN How about making it Growl-compatible so warnings about new pictures pop up as growls? it seems that more and more programs go that way... Apart from that: keep up the good work! and thanx... Peter J. Pedersen (Version 1.0b37)

ANONYMOUS If you compare the notifier in 1001 with Growl, you'll see why I'm using my own notifier. There are big differences. (Version 1.0b37)

ANONYMOUS I'll add that in a future version. Next time you have a request, please submit it to the 1001 support forum. I missed yours so it's not in b35. (Version 1.0b34)
