HAGEN KAYE A handy 5 star application! Had a little trouble adding RSS feeds, emailed developer and got a response in 15 minutes! Support Outstanding! Nice touches and features - like being able to scroll on the second monitor, drag scroll thru ticker, dim stories already read, etc. etc. Smooth scrolling, runs excellent on 1.25 Ghz 15" PowerBook on 10.4 (Version 2.32)

DOUTEE I emailed them twice maybe it is the weekend but I can't seem to get RSS Feeds working for me. Can you help me out? You can email me at jdoutree@nmu.edu or write back here.

MARC CHARBONNEAU NewsTicker is a great application, at a really good price. The interface shows the developer "gets" the concept behind OSX applications-- every aspect of the program is very powerful but at the same time stylish, easy to use and good looking. Well done. One thing I would love to see for a future version would be the ability to hide the dock icon. (perhaps put the menu options in an overlay window that appears when the cursor hovers over the feed?) That, in my mind, would make the program pretty much perfect. (Version 2.32)

HENRY This works very well, but you should know that it "ticks" news about apple products. This is a great way to see new software, but if you want a CNN style ticker, you will have to add a stream from preferances. (Version 2.15)

ANONYMOUS What in the world was the point of this statement? Obviously you have to add your own rss's. Did you expect the programmer to include every rss known to man? Jeez what a redundant comment. (Version 2.25)

ANONYMOUS Interesting RSS ticker and probably one of the better ones out there. However, the interface needs some work before it's really usable. The ability to mark articles as read without having to click each one is missing, forcing you to mark every article from every feed as read in order to get old stuff out of the mix. There's also a slight issue with the demo version in regard to the position on the screen. If it is set to 'desktop' you will not be able to bring the app forward to click the 'register later' nagware button that pops up every time the feed is refreshed. (Version 2.0)

You can mark items as read by Command+Clicking them or using the "Mark All As Read" menu option. We are working to add "Mark Feed As Read". We are looking into the bug with the registration dialog, thanks! (Version 2.0)

ANONYMOUS Judging from the new "Gradient" fill it looks like NullRiver has been busy studying Tickershock from Mesa Dynamics. If you're going to copy anything else from that application, how about getting NewsTicker's CPU usage down? (Version 1.5)

if you're going to accuse us of copying ideas, please find an idea that was actually original and copied... First, we've been meaning to have an aqua look for the bar ever since the first betas, but have just been too busy fixing bugs and adding features. Second, the look is a copy from Mac OS X Tiger, and *not* TickerShock (that's where TickerShock gets it from too...). We're not interested in copying anything, only creating what we think is the best product. Nullriver Software (Version 1.5)

ZIGZAG Re: CPU usage comment: The CPU usage problem is not our fault, but Apple's NSTimer's, it has a bug and TickerShock I believe suffers from the same bug... its intermittent, changing settings will cause the CPU to go sometimes ~ 18-25% sometimes ~ 0-2%. We've tried many things to work around it, but *anything* other than an NSTimer adds overhead. (Version 1.5)

WICCAN23 It would have been very helpful, if after you purchase Newticker that all of your saved RSS feeds are not erased. Now I have to go back and replace the RSS feeds that I have found. Very time consuming and unnecessary. (Version 1.01)

It should not erase them after you register ;-) There is definitely no code for that, I will add it into the list of bugs to look for. Nullriver Software (Version 1.01)
