DESCRIPTION
PDFLab lets you split and join PDF documents as well as insert images and blank pages. You will also be able to easily create PDF documents out of several images.
Its usage is really simple. You add your files in a list, select the pages you wish to include, order them the way you want and create a new PDF document.
PDFLab 2.0 also ships with tools that let you quickly split a document into many documents, (one document per page or one document for odd pages and one for even pages), encrypt or decrypt a document, add a watermark, interleave several documents.

DAATH  Hmm, It was so easy to create multiple documents in one pdf booklet with last version of MAC OSX. So bad now it doesn't work with SnowLeopard v10.6.1.

CA.  PDFLab did work fine on my system under OSX snow leopard for sever hours; it suddenly quit and did not even respond* - I really wonder where the bug is sitting.

It is not the first application that quits service under snow leopard in this way. The same happened for instance with visual hub - I got this one to work using some tricks, from case to case.

*it is not even visible when I look at the system's activity using "top" in the terminal.

In the case of visual hub, there seem to be some apple script errors. In the case of PDFLab, I really do not know. what the source could be... maybe someone can help me.

LENRDZELIG  This program sadly does not work with Snow Leopard. And it looks like it is no longer being developed.

DRDUL  Yes, it works on 10.5.7. As Daniel noted, it crashes when attempting to add a file by clicking the icon at top left, but files can be dragged into PDFLab without problems.

I used it to remove the password from a camera manual so I could add bookmarks (it's unbelievable that in 2009, manufacturers are still producing 150-page PDFs without bookmarks). Select the file in the PDFLab window, press Command-R and a new password-free version is created. Fantastic!

FORMICA  Unfortunately, PDFLab no longer seems to work in Mac OS 10.5.7. It's a terrible shame because it's one of my favorite apps.

DANIEL PAGE  I had it crash the first time I tried to add pages by clicking the icon in the program. I was able to add pages, though, by dragging them in from finder (actually leap). Hopefully it keeps working, I just made a pdf file out of a 63 separate .jpg files that somebody decided to scan a book as

KLAUSKINSKI  PDFLab is still the best PDF-unlocker. It decrypted (unlocked) any of my "secured" (locked) PDFs by doing this: Drag a PDF onto PDFLab's list, select it there, and press Apple-R. The application then rebuilds the locked doc and saves it 1:1 as an unlocked doc. Even if it was protected by a master password etc.pp.! (I'm using OSX.4.11.)

BTW: It is not illegal to modify your PDF data 'for your own use'. It is only illegal to re-publish or re-sell etc. copyrighted PDF contents that you have modified without permission.

BRENINOZ  This app never worked for me. I tried to combine PDFs but it just crashed every time. I tried with security protected PDFs and PDFs without any security.

APPLEDOGX  The watermark feature doesn't work on my Mac. (Intel/MacOS 10.4.10) I tried both text and image, and the file is always devoid of either one. Too bad. This is really just what I need to do.

RUBAIYAT  You might have a look at how your .pdf is constructed using Adobe Illustrator's layers. Apple Pages files for some odd reason generate 2 white backgrounds and Acrobat detects only the 1st one and inserts the watermark just above that. The watermark is then hidden behind the 2nd white background. PDFLab maybe doing the same.

WHIT_G  I've loved using this app until just now - it stopped working. I'm getting an error (OS 10.4.10) that says that it requires Java 1.4 and won't work with 1.5. I am using the latest version and just downloaded it again to make sure. Anybody else have this problem?
