SYHARRIS  The realism of the fish and aquarium are incredibly good, but, imo, at $20 it's overpriced; it's still just a screensaver afterall.

I don't feel that anything more than $10 is justified for one. So, I just won't buy this puppy.

DIAMONDTRE  I paid $5.99 for the new key code. I thought I was getting the download code but it turned out to be for the CD version. Email them 2 times to get the right key code. They haven't replied.

PSLIEBER  Agreed. They updated the site to reflect fulfillment at the new ($5.95) price. Kudos for the head's up.

PAUL LIEBER  Heads and shoulders above the excellent Marine Aquarium, although admittedly somewhat of a resource hog (even on a PBG4).

Collision detection is outstanding, the realism (especially fins) something to behold. Well worth the 20 bucks that keeps these Aqarium projects alive on the Mac.

ANONYMOUS  I have a number of screensavers, but this latest one is my favorite. The fish move very realistically and the gental swaying of the water plants is very soothing. As the last review noted, this is the "next" generation of screensaver. The shimmer of light on the pebbles is quite beautiful. Try this--you'll like it. I downloaded the demo and then paid for it after about a day. I feel that the price is definitely worth it.

JOHANNES REXX  Think of Goldfish Aquarium as the next generation of photorealistic screensaver technology. All the plants move with the ebb and flow of the water. Bits of material move through the water as in a real tank. The fish eyes move, they gulp, their fins do amazing things.

The collision detection is awesome, way better than UT2004 or Halo.

And it is very inexpensive if bought NOW. I never ever paid for a screen saver before these guys came out with Marine Aquarium, and I did it again and bought Goldfish Aquarium. This is the state of the art!

And I've been on their forums and they are very lively, the people are great, and the developers are very responsive and alive.

And it is rock solid stable. It runs overnight as a screen saver and does not lock up, it works as a desktop screen saver using Backlight 2.0, and it comes with a stand-alone application version too, which you can clone if you want and run multiple aquariums all over your screens.

Pretty amazing for a Beta!

SCHNAAPS  I think this product is totally cute. I was a beta tester on MA, and basically you get the product at a discount for beta testing and get to watch the product improve. The new version that just came out has a new tank. It is fun, and worth it in my opinion.

ARYUGAETU  This is made by the same people that makes Marine Aquarium. The fish (just one for demo) has excellent movement and transparency with it's long fancy fins. The eyes move. It seems to be more intelligent/realistic movement as it sometimes stops at the glass. The plants sway. If they were to simply make ONE aquarium (ONE liscense!) with this level of detail/action, and the user being able to choose fresh or salt water, it'd be a great program. But, I recently (stupidly) bought the license for Marine Aquarium and it CONSTANTLY goes to a blank grey screen and keeps asking me to put my code in again ...and again ...and again. It's a waste, especially if they are going to try to soak people TWICE for essentially the same product. It's cute for awhile, but for a screen saver, I simply went back to Macs "Forest" for a serene background scene that doesn't turn to grey.

ANONYMOUS  I don't recall getting a tech support issue brought up with the problem you are having with your keycode not sticking. Tech support is available at the fan site (www.feldoncentral.com) and at www.serenescreen.com.
