DESCRIPTION

Solo Performer Show Controller is a complete live performance software system for controlling the show for solo musicians. The software plays background audio, displays lyrics, controls MIDI effects, and controls light shows. The full package also includes a usb-connected foot pedal for controlling the show in a hands-free manner.

Users can create play lists of audio to use as background accompaniment for their performances. MIDI files may be played as audio or can be sent to an external MIDI device. Lyric displays can be added to display lyric text in synchronization to the audio playback. MIDI effects can be changed automatically during song playback. DMX512 lighting can be connected to the foot controller and light scenes can be programmed to change in synchronization with the audio as well.

Solo Performer Show Controller supports a variety of audio formats including mp3, midi, wave, and aiff. Additionally, selected tracks can be stripped out of midi files so that, for example, a singing guitar player could strip out the guitar and vocal harmony tracks so that only the rhythm tracks play.

CPMAX  Problems with the software download:

    I ended up with a version 3.5.1.1 not a 4.0

Please rename the installer so when unarchiving the download it appears next to it. I had to go looking for the installer because it's named "Install SPSC". Perhaps this is rectified in the 4.0 version?

ALIENAPPARATUS  Please contact support@alienapparatus.com about this. We are not seeing this issue at all. Downloading from our website gives an installer that automatically launches and installs version 4.0. I'm wondering if you might have had an old installer around from a past download. In any event, please contact us because if there is a problem we want to fix it, and if there is not a problem, we want to help.

CPMAX  I like the idea. It's a neat package and has some useful functionality. The backing tracks/lyrics display is a great feature. Sorry I can't rate it, but I'm not a solo performing musician.

Anyone scared of downloading this software because of the price should note that the price is the full price that includes the foot controller. Check their website for more purchasing options.

KAYEL  I object to the concept. I think real musicians should perform without crutches. Or training wheels. Why not hire a band? I guarantee a real band will be much more interesting to listen to and watch. Yikes...

CHAMPAņA ARAUZ  Sorry to read that you feel this way about a working solo musician. Yeah, ideally it would be great to work with a band, but the reallity is that that isn't always the case. If you feel so strongly about that issue, then why do you use the computer. Is it a "crutch"? I don't think so my friend. We all use it for different reasons, but in the end we all want to make better what we do. The creativity of the musician is still at stake no matter what "crutches" (s)he uses, and in the end, (s)he has to produce and share with the listener the experience and the vision that the individual has. If due to cost, location, atmosphere, tastes and most importantly, availability of other musicians of your choice that share the same vision as you are not available, the show must go on with or without them. Getting your idea out is the most important thing and if an application helps to do that, great.
