DESCRIPTION

Solo Performer Show Controller is a complete live performance software system for controlling the show for solo musicians. The software plays background audio, displays lyrics, controls MIDI effects, and controls light shows. The full package also includes a usb-connected foot pedal for controlling the show in a hands-free manner.

Users can create play lists of audio to use as background accompaniment for their performances. MIDI files may be played as audio or can be sent to an external MIDI device. Lyric displays can be added to display lyric text in synchronization to the audio playback. MIDI effects can be changed automatically during song playback. DMX512 lighting can be connected to the foot controller and light scenes can be programmed to change in synchronization with the audio as well.

Solo Performer Show Controller supports a variety of audio formats including mp3, midi, wave, and aiff. Additionally, selected tracks can be stripped out of midi files so that, for example, a singing guitar player could strip out the guitar and vocal harmony tracks so that only the rhythm tracks play.

KAYEL  I object to the concept. I think real musicians should perform without crutches. Or training wheels. Why not hire a band? I guarantee a real band will be much more interesting to listen to and watch. Yikes...

CHAMPAņA ARAUZ  Sorry to read that you feel this way about a working solo musician. Yeah, ideally it would be great to work with a band, but the reallity is that that isn't always the case. If you feel so strongly about that issue, then why do you use the computer. Is it a "crutch"? I don't think so my friend. We all use it for different reasons, but in the end we all want to make better what we do. The creativity of the musician is still at stake no matter what "crutches" (s)he uses, and in the end, (s)he has to produce and share with the listener the experience and the vision that the individual has. If due to cost, location, atmosphere, tastes and most importantly, availability of other musicians of your choice that share the same vision as you are not available, the show must go on with or without them. Getting your idea out is the most important thing and if an application helps to do that, great.
