RICARDO SALAS  I own a macbook pro and use a Novatel Merlin XU870 3G Modem.

(The HUAWEI modems provided by ISPs in Chile, where I live don't have an antenna connection without which, the signal is not strong enough for 3G in the rural area that I am in)

I found myself having to pay for this third party software since OSX does not support the Merlin unless it is used with Verizon, which does not provide service this country.

(I resent that Apple forces you to use a specific ISP)

Novatel provides excellent software for Windows for free (which BTW is better than launch2net - it is MUCH faster to dial and has SMS support)

The changes needed in OSX to support the Novatel Merlin XU870 are very simple. Just letting you specify the number to dial and a password!

What does it take for these bozos at Apple to change this?

On top... if you install the purchased software from nova media as an administrator, you can't use it as a user...

Thank you for your comments. As you may know, launch2net relies on the modem drivers of several modem manufacturers to "talk" to the modems and make the online experience as best as possible.

Now, as 10.6 compatible modem drivers are not available at the moment, we can not issue a 10.6 compatible update immediately. This does not only affect us, but in general many drivers have to be updated to work with 10.6.

Hint: We have stated this on our front website, in red, in a separate box, as soon as 10.6 was able to be purchased :-) But we are sorry for any inconvenience the lack of modem drivers have caused us all.

A-ONE  Great utility this - but it seems that Leopard kills it. And no word on the developers site on that front. Hopefully it will be updated soon ... ?

GRYPHONENT  Good when it’s working. However, that comes with a big “If.” Launch2Net constantly ”forgets” the pairing with my Bluetooth phone requiring me to delete the setting from the network pane and the Bluetooth pane in the System Preferences and then reestablishing both the network setting and the pairing. Annoying and time-consuming. I reckon the reason for the problem is that Launch2Net does not play game with other Bluetooth applications such as BluePhoneElite2 and SallingClicker... and the developer seems unwilling to do anything about it.

RICLIP  Im using launch to net with Macbook and MotoRazr v3xx. This software beautifully complements my Mac. Simple - install - pair - open - works!

I was almost shocked at how simply ad reliably it worked - Congratulations NovaMedia! Worth every cent I paid for it.

Software developers should take notes! Software should work FOR the user, not the other way around.....

TV-EYE  A very easy to use software and a competent and nice technical support. I had problems with my software moving it from one computer to another (logic board went kaputt on my MBP). I got really good help and now it works great again.

BOSTJAN  So easy to use that I forgot that I even have it. It became an essential tool for me.. no more paying for expensive hotel internet just to quickly read my Email.

Their technical support is also one of the best I ever had contact with. I needed support two times and on both occasions they replied to my Email within minutes - unbelievable.
