ANONYMOUS Screen Spanning Doctor is a "must have" application for all Ibook owners. But, there is another problem for all of us: Did you notice that when you have opened an application in a second-extended screen, then shut down your Mac, and restart it with 1 screen, the application remembers where it was opened (i.e. 2nd screen), and it's impossible to select it!!!??? If you do "exposé", you will see that the application is indeed opened, but you won't be able to place it back on the main screen!! A BIG APPLE OS X Bug! I called Apple and they don't know the solution. "Detecting Displays" won't work. Relaunching Finder doesn't work either. It's pretty upsetting, because it means that every time you leave home, you have to move back all applications on the main screen before shutting down the Mac (PowerBook). I guess someone could write a little app that would automatically re-settle the coordinates of applications' screen to "centered window 1". The contrary is true for Quicktime, which would systematically open a video window on top-left corner of main screen #1, not letting users decide where a QT window should open by default (when working with IMovie, FCE or DVDStudio Pro, it's upsetting to have this QT Window not "positionable" where you want. If someone, or Screen Spanning Doctor's author, could fix these 2 Apple bugs, it would be a great service for the Apple community. (Version 0.3.3) |
