ROBERT No longer seems to work. Only loads the GMail login page, even if you're already logged in... Google has since released Gmail Notifier, however, which can be chosen as a mailto: app, and seems to work fine for one account. (Version 2.0)

ANONYMOUS I too find spymac's mail to be crap. It goes down for days, or won't send, and is getting overrun with spam. They just don't have the infrastructure that google has. P.S. Spymac was great before they introduced their larger email account. At 100,000 or so members it was fine, at nearly 800,000. IT SUX. (Version 2.0)

A HAPPY SPYMAC USER What's the big deal with Gmail anyway?! Spymac also offers a free 1GB email service (web and client). Actually, Spymac did it first. But wait, that is not all! Spymac will also give you free 100MB website hosting (no popups or banners), free 250MB image gallery hosting, free private and public iCal hosting... and no need for silly invitations! *** www.spymac.com *** (Version 1.0)

JOEL MUELLER Yeah, but spymac only implemented it after Google rumors were out saying that Google was going to do it. (Version 1.0)

JUNPEI You make a good point. Thing is, Spymac mail has never worked right for me. I need a reliable mail service (and as much as Hotmail isn't great, it's reliable, and I'm hoping Gmail will be too). (Version 1.0)

ANONYMOUS If you haven't used GMail, you won't understand. For starters, GMail is FAST. Click, bam, you're there - nearly as responsive as a desktop client. Spymac is....well using its webmail is painfully slow. Then there's the conversations, and the labels, and the searching.... GMail isn't about the gigabyte, they just used that to get some press. ANONYMOUS Hotmail? Yuck. Its 2MB mailbox are a joke. Yahoo's 100MB are pretty good, and I believe its service is quite reliable too. (Version 1.0)
