DESCRIPTION
Call of Duty 2 redefines the cinematic intensity and chaos of battle as seen through the eyes of ordinary soldiers fighting together in epic WWII conflicts. The sequel to 2003's Call of Duty, winner of over 80 Game of the Year awards, Call of Duty 2 offers more immense, more intense, more realistic battles than ever before, thanks to the stunning visuals of the new COD2 engine.
WHAT'S NEW
This is an official update for Call of Duty 2. It will fully update any previous version of Call of Duty 2 to version 1.3. It is recommended for all users.

The Call of Duty 2 1.3 patch fixes some multiplayer game and level
issues, raises the gamestate from 16k to 128k and addresses the PunkBuster
GUID issue where players were not being assigned PunkBuster GUID's of
exactly 32 characters.

Notes for Mod Users:
- It is recommended that any user modifications that have been installed
to the Call of Duty 2 directory be removed before installing this patch.
These modifications are not supported by Activision and may not be
compatible with some of the new features that are included.
- Call of Duty 2 does not support mods that have spaces in the mod's
folder name. Be sure that the folder that contains your mod does not have
spaces; otherwise users will not be able to download the files. For
example, a mod in a folder called "My Mod" would be invalid, whereas
"MyMod" or "My_Mod" would work.

Multiplayer Fixes:
-Raised the gamestate from 16k to 128k
-Added loading bars to maps mp_harbor and mp_rhine
-Addressed the PB GUID issue where players were not being assigned PB
GUID's of exactly 32 characters.

mp_rhine map changes:
-Fixed player getting on top of broken wall and seeing through second
story of bombed out building.

mp_harbor map changes:
-Reduced overall fog density
-Fixed missing water texture
-Fixed player not being able to shoot through lower portion of the first
gap in a railing found on east side of map.
-Fixed player not being able to shoot through lower portion of railing
found on east edge of map.
-Fixed a partially floating crate and a couple holes in sandbags.

Known Issues:
When hosting a PunkBuster enabled server for the first time after
installing the 1.3 patch, you may experience stability issues. To avoid
this, launch the Multiplayer application, wait 10 - 20 seconds, then quit.
Once you relaunch Call of Duty 2 Multiplayer, you will be able to host
PunkBuster servers without any issues.
REQUIREMENTS
G5+, Mac OS X 10.3.9 or later, Radeon 9600 or better graphics card.

FRANKIE.  I don't have a trouble with the patch but another problem .

I can't figure out HOW to download Call of Duty 2 on my mac!

I have the requirements that's needed..

But I just can't figure out to download the game.. ( I'm new on Mac ) :p

Like could someone go step by step and tell me what to do?

( It's not a windows game, I bought it from the AppleStore... )

- When I double click the "cod2" Icon this message appears:

" Call of Duty 2 could not locate the "Call of Duty 2 Data" folder. Please make sure

it is located in the same folder as the Call of Duty 2 application."

Could anyone tell me in a human-being way what they mean ??

Thaaaaaaaaaanks..

MONOCLAST  I used to play this on my Power Mac G5 tower, and loved it; but I was disappointed to find this game runs like UTTER CRAP on my brand-new Mac Pro! The entire game locks up every few seconds, even in the menus before you enter a map! It's completely unplayable. I've re-installed several times from the original CD media and applying updates doesn't help.

Has anyone gotten this game running well on Intel hardware??

MARKSIEBER  I had a problem installing the Call of Duty 1.3 patch, won't install despite trying different directories and reinstallation of the program.

I finally discovered it was in conflict with the Call of Duty 2 Demo, which I had previously downloaded. This demo shares some of the same folder names as the full game. I removed the demo and the patch installed.

I've seen others with the same problem, but did not find a solution with online searches.

MARSEO  Well, they have done some excellent work with this game performance for us Mac users;

I am running a 6 year old Digital Audio G4 with 1.5GB of cas2-2-2-6 ram, Sonnet Duet dual 1.8ghz and a BFG 7800GS AGP at 425/1250.. And the full game runs as smoothly at maxxed 1920x1200 as my 2.3ghz Athlon 7800GTX powered PC ran the Demo two years ago.

The patch has not done anything as it seems to have dealt mostly with multiplayer exploits. Just wanted to let Powermac people know to not be afraid of this game due to its previous reputation for horrible performance on the PC. Only reason to avoid it would be if you're already burned out by games like the previous Call of Duty or Medal of Honor.

I don't really blame them for stating a G5 processor as a requirement as most G4 systems are soo feeble that its not worth trying. ....But saying that, if you have a G5 (or heavily upgraded dual G4) with a nvidia 6800GT or better you should have a decent experience with this game.

WILDESOZELOT  This seems to be a joke? people with a G5 2.0 GHZ are getting low frames at certain points. Your machine is like mine-almost exactly, but i it will never be playable on highest res and settings. Lol.

RUSSELL GLEASON  First of all, the requirements for COD2 (Call of Duty 2) are deceiving as this game will run on a G4 (provided your G4 has been heavily upgraded). I'm using a G4 Digital Audio Mac, with a DUAL 1.8GHz Processor from Sonnet Technologies, a OWC Modified Version of the ATI Radeon 9600 AGP Video Graphics Card with 64Mb of memory (IMPORTANT NOTE: this grapgics card was originally designed for G5's but converted and adapted for G4 use ONLY and it is available at www.macsales.com ) plus 1.25Gb of RAM. Also, I've used this game on two different type hard drives - a Firewire 400 External Hard drive from Fantom Drives and a ATA 133 Internal Hard Drive connected to a ATA 133 PCI Hard Drive Card.

Having said this, COD2 runs smoothly on my G4 without flaw, and I have to admit it is the best WW2 War game yet made by Asypr. This new generation of software games reflect a quality that is fast pace and more detailed, definately superior to the original COD, and it is a huge blast to play (I've only used the single player function to date). I can highly recommend this game to anyone who is looking for an excellant quality war game!

ROCKINPHOTOG  Nice, the demo for COD 2.0 runs wonderfully on my G5 2.5 and at pretty decent speeds on my 2GHz Macbook too!

BRAD  AWESOME! This game is so good it made me go out and get the full game. It also made me look at the XBOX 360 version of it and I am compeeled to get one so I can play this game on it. Compared to medal of hounour, hmm, I love medal of hounour but this must be better even though it hurts to say that! Download it, play it, marvelle at it, get the full game.
