DESCRIPTION
Crm4Mac is a professional contact manager. The most important key elements are already in your hands. With Mac OS X, you have powerful applications like Address Book, iCal and Mail already installed. The only thing missing is the link between all these applications; one application which links your events, mail and documents to your private and business contacts. This is precisely what Crm4Mac does for you.

Crm4Mac gives the user full insight in all communications. From each contact you can access all relevant info immediately. A single mouse click gives you insight of all correspondence on paper, email and meetings. In this sense, Crm4Mac offers you professional contact management with the ease of use of a true Apple application.

WHAT'S NEW

  • you can now create and edit activities that are linked to a company i.s.o. to a person
  • we've added Spanish localisation (te be proofed)

MACLOVER1.1  The developper's site states this: "Leopard differs a lot from the previous operating systems. It appears too much work and commercial not interesting to create a Leopard version of Crm4Mac. We decided to stop development for the moment."

When I pay that much for a piece of shareware I expect the people behind it to be serious... Oh Well !!!

DEWALLE  Some people are giving harsh feedback on crm4mac, but they are unfairly comparing it to professional packages that sell for many times more.

I have used crm4mac for my two small businesses for over one year and it has done a great job. Its easy to use and more powerfull than native Apple software or any competitor in the same price class (I tried most of them).

A few times I contacted support with questions and they were prompt to get back to me. They were honest about the capabilities and the plans for version 3.0. I have no complaints and have recommended this to others with small businesses.

MACLEMON  Doesn't work for me as the application crashes at start. Have been inquiring about the issue to the developers for more than two months and haven't received any reaction.

Sad to see that the Developers of a promising looking app don't answer any email where an blocking error is reported.

SMITHSM  I previously gave a good rating for CRM4Mac but they introduced a serious bug in version 2.0 with auto synchronization on startup and did not fix it in 2.1. I reported the bug but they did nothing about it. If you have a lot of email in your "on my mac" account DO NOT enable CRM4Mac to synchronize with it or enable it. I could open the program the first time and then it starts syncronizing. The next time I try to open the program it will hang on the startup screen. The only way to recover is to completely delete every part of CRM4Mac from your computer including the undocumented helper application.

At the very least you should enable the logging to console option in preferences as there is no other way to see what went wrong. I suggested when 2.0 exihibited this bug that IBizzi include a way to disable auto synchronizatiion at startup so that at least the program would open. They didn't. I have had high hopes for their approach which is to leverage icalendar and addressbook but their implementation has never risen above beta quality code.

DEWALLE  I'm surprised by your comments. I have used version 2.0, 2.1 and now 3.0 without any trouble. This must be something specific to your system.

SMITHSM  The problem is that I have large email files and CRM4Mac chokes on certain types of emails. I confirmed with their tech support that they have had crashes. Because I have so many emails and there is not way to tell CRM4MAC to not process all my mailboxes the odds of it encountering a bad email and crashing are high in my case.

DEWALLE  In the Crm4Mac preferences I can tell it which accounts and which mailboxes to sync to with simple check boxes. That functionality was there from 2.0 onward. (I use Apple Mail).

NCIANCA  The idea seems good, I like the screenshots, but it needs to work.

Everytime I start this program I get an alert that says "Application cannot start. An internal error has occurred during the startup." I got this alert with the previous version and with this 2.1b1 version

I have emailed the developer but haven't received a response.

NCIANCA  Version 2.1 still will not start, displaying the same error message "An internal error has occurred during the startup."

PAOLO  I had been using CRM4MAC before with some problem after a while. Now things seem to work great agaim. It is a simple CRM and does the work. Some features more features are needed(e.g. write notes directly in Word) but we are on the right direction.

It is not cheap but still woth the money.

ANONYMOUS  The idea was good, but it took the programmer half a year to develop a Tiger compatible version.

I've bought DayLite in the meantime. And it ROCKS.

ALBERT  We had a working test version for Tiger available for registered users within 3 weeks after Apple shipped Tiger. Yet we needed to rebuild under the hood code because some major things needed change.

MACAL  The new version is much better than previous versions. Faster and better intergration with Address Book, iCal and Mail. Can't see it taking over from NUDC just yet (would be neat if it could) but for people who don't need that level of complexity, Crm4Mac is great.

Well worth the money - even though I'm having some problems with registration but hopefully that will be cleared up soon.
