DESCRIPTION
RadioRecorder allows you to save streaming music over the internet into saved MP3 files that you can use to copy to your iPod or other portable music device. It supports immediate or scheduled recordings, splitting recordings into songs for shoutcast servers, adding files to an iTunes playlist of your choice and automatically deleting old recordings to save space.

MAXARMIN Great program. The interface is not intuitive and real ugly, but RadioRecorder is a very simple background-working app and imports the tracks directly to iTunes.

ANONYMOUS Another reason - we have an internet radio station, and it allows us to archive everything for later re-runs, for those not able to catch a show. Also I have a friend with tourettes that swears by it :-)

PATU999 This is a wonderful program, I used it and LOVED it for a while without any problem. However, recently it does not put the songs in to my choice of folder, it just puts everything into the library and marks the date as the name of the songs. Please help me what to do, I would love to use it again! Does it have to do something with my recent update to tiger?

ANONYMOUS Great thing, even though the station switching is a bit difficult. Way not make the station list a sidepanel (like folder in Mail.app etc.)? Anyway, we need a new release, the main file version 1.08 is still named 1.07, thus letting MacUpdate Desktop believe an old version is install.

PATRICK POWER Good product, but can't record more than 60 minutes of radio. After that I get a "Connection closed by the station".

ANONYMOUS You can set up how many hours Radio Recorder should record - are you sure you modified the default settings of just one hour? If so, and if Radio Recorder already tells you the station closed the connection, the fault lies with the station. Though I agree that Radio Recorder sometimes doesn't resume correctly even if you have "Reconnect on failure" checked (especially if the error seems to be some iTunes script error while adding to the playlist).

TUI Well I got confused at first with the interface.... 'now' actually means 'record now'...... hmm. It was also not clear from the help file that one can't listen to music through RadioRecorder at all. However the only real problem I found is that one can't freely select the folder where the recordings are stored, so whatever partition the user's music folder happens to be on will also end up storing all RadioRecorder's MP3 files. Niggles aside, the recordings themselves are excellent - usually, due to my pre-historic internet connection, any player I have used so far stalls after a while. Not so RadioRecorder. I'm impressed! And: Thanks for freeware :)))

FRANK LEE This is intuitive and easy to use except for one thing---song ends tend to be lopped off 5-8 seconds early. There's no preference to set, as in Streamripper, for adjusting the start/stop of songs, so the only workaround is to drag the tracks out of iTunes into Quicktime Pro, where they can be edited as needed. This is pretty time consuming. Any chance that the developer can tweak his code a little more and make time adjustments possible?

ANONYMOUS The chopped starts/stops all depend on which stream you're recording. RadioWazee, for instance, chops 5+ seconds off and puts them on the next track, but SKY times everything perfectly. So, it's not this application that's responsible for the problems... but it would still be nice to have a preference for sliding the start/stop time as needed, depending on the stream being recorded.

ANONYMOUS Nice, but until this supports bookmarkable AACs, I'll carry on using Wiretap and converting with iTunes.

ANONYMOUS ...So, rather than use RadioRecorder, you'll use Wiretap, which also doesn't create AACs? You can convert the files RadioRecorder creates with iTunes, too. :D Plus, most stream rippers also write out the ID3 tag info, if available, which I don't think Wiretap does (haven't used it, so I can't comment, but I do know it records all the audio output at once...)

The interface is a little busy, but this app works very well and can even be scheduled!. Within minutes I had a handful of new songs in my iTunes library without an ounce of effort. Very nice. And it's free to boot.
