DESCRIPTION
KeyCue helps you to use your Mac OS X applications more effectively. Just hold down the Command key for a while - KeyCue comes to help and shows a table of all currently available keyboard shortcuts. When you have found the desired shortcut in the KeyCue table, just type it and continue working as usual. The KeyCue window will disappear automatically. You no longer need to memorize and remember key combinations, just press the command key and KeyCue tells you what you want to know. Over time, you will automatically remember frequently used shortcuts and become a power user of your favorite applications, working much more efficiently.

ALEX ANGAS I've been using KeyCue ever since buying a Mac to help me transition from Windows. It's been really helpful for learning keyboard shortcuts, something that Mac OS X keeps hidden too much (IMHO). It's a great app in that it simply does what it says on the tin. The interface is clear and well organised. A possible option might be to not display certain shortcut categories so the KeyCue screen isn't so big (perhaps that's there I haven't looked). I also contacted support recently about the Firefox crash bug that others have reported on this thread. They wrote back to me straight away with a very clear e-mail (I'm sure they're sick of hearing about it). It's a bug in Firefox that is fixed in 3.5.3, see https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=499600 for more details. Strongly recommended. (Version 4.5)

DENNY DOUBLEPLUS MARKETING This is truly a HOT application! There is NOTHING like having a cheat sheet right at ONE of your fingertips - just hold down an Apple/Mac COMMAND key for a second, and the key command cheat sheet appears before your very eyes. You can do this in ANY application and voila! The key commands unique to that app. appear. In my opinion, this is a MUST HAVE! (Version 4.5)

WHEELIE4 Being quadriplegic and heavily dependent on keyboard shortcuts and having to remember so many I love Keycue. But ever since Firefox version 3.0.8 and every version up to 3.5.1 it causes firefox to crashes constantly when executing a shortcut., I had to turn keycue off. Once I did that firefox stopped crashing. Don't recall this happening w/ Firefox 3.0.7 and before. Any help would be appreciated. (Version 4.4)

WHEELIE4 Actually I discovered today after tinkering if you set (For menu shortcut: press CMD twice and hold) and (For system-wide shortcuts: press CMD twice and hold) then Firefox stops crashing BUT then when holding CMD to see the shortcuts window it doesn't always show. (Version 4.4)

WHEELIE4 BTW, forgot to mention I'm using Sticky Keys found under System Preferences>Universal Access. (Version 4.4)

ERGONIS SOFTWARE Am am glad to inform you that (at least as per the release notes of the developers of Firefox) this bug should have been finally fixed in FireFox (see https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/buglist.cgi?quicksearch=ALL%20status1.9.1%3A.3-fixed) We recommend upgrading to FireFox 3.5.3. IAMDORIAN As has been echoed by other reviewers, this is a nice little app, and useful for learning new key strokes. HOwever, the price is way too hight for this sort of thing. As with lots of clever applications, this is one which should be included in Apples OSX; it's very Mac-ish. It does need to be priced like the utility it is. This is not some major software project, but it is nice. At 1/3 of the cost it might gain a real following, but I too would not have paid for this had it not been that it came in a MacUpdate Promo bundle. And it's not that I am a cheapskate - I have paid form many dozens of small independently developed software apps and utilities, and continue to support small developers. (Version 4.4)

AVEDISWOLF This app is very helpful with learning some shortcuts. Nothing I had to do, but helpful learning some new ones. I got this with the MacUpdate bundle, but looking at the price tag for this, if it wasn't included in this bundle, I would have never even thought of trying it. Even after using it, and liking it, I still think the straight out price is more than I would be willing to pay. Great app, Drop the price in half, and it would be a 5 star app! (Version 4.3)

XPLICIT Works good, but much too expensive for such an app. I mean, come on, it's just a little tool displaying some shortcuts. Dear developer, maybe someone has to remind you that users are not paying what it's worth to you but what it's worth to them?! (Version 4.3)

JERRY KRINOCK The main new feature added in the latest update, 4.3, activation by "double tapping and holding the ⌘ key", instead of just holding it down for X seconds, sounds complicated, but it is a huge improvement. Although I do naturally hold the ⌘ key down when I can't remember the keyboard shortcut, I also do it while I'm thinking of what I want to do next, and in these instances KeyCue was annoying. The new activation method is a great idea and, if the developer has not done so already, I'd recommend making it the default trigger setting for new users. Users who were annoyed as I was by previous versions should give 4.3+ a try. Open the KeyCue Settings ► Activation panel and set to "press ⌘ twice and hold". Cool app. Next challenges for the developer: Give me cues for my function keys (F1, F2, etc.), and cues for keyboard shortcuts that I have set using QuicKeys X3. (Version 4.3)

GREEKTRANSCODER.ORG The two Ergonis utilities that I use daily are PopChar and Typinator, which are simply great. I got KeyCue as part of the macility bundle. I wouldn't have purchased it separately (so I removed a star from the value line), but as an addition to the other two applications in that bundle, it's a great value. I'd like to be able to set a longer delay before the program activates, or choose a different key combination, but all in all it works very well. (Version 3.0)

HERBERTKORNFELD To address GREEKTRANSCODER.ORG "I'd like to be able to set a longer delay before the program activates." Unless you are trying to set up a delay of more than 2 seconds, this is already possible. In the applications preferences, you can set a delay ranging anywhere from less than 1/4 of a second, to 2 seconds. (Version 3.0)

XENOPHILE Greedy and rude. Checking for unique serials is certainly justifiable for expensive, complex applications that are used in a workplace, like Photoshop or MS Office, but for this overpriced one-trick pony? What, you're scared dad will be using in the study at the same time his kids are using it upstairs while doing their homework? Maybe you should develop an app worth stealing before adding phone-home functionality. (Version 4.3)
