DESCRIPTION
Font Finagler... If you're having problems on your system with text appearing "garbled", it could be caused by corrupt font cache files. What appears to be happening is that incorrect or corrupted encoding vector information is being used when mapping the character codes as input by your keyboard to the glyphs they represent in the problematic font. You can run Font Cache Cleaner to purge these cache files in an attempt to restore normal behavior. If you use Font Cache Cleaner but the problem remains, then it could be caused by a font conflict or by a corrupt font. Try removing fonts to isolate the problematic fonts that are causing this behavior.

JOHN SAWYER CJS  Time for the references to this utility's old name, "Font Cache Cleaner", to be changed to its current name, "Font Finager", in the product description above.

JIMW  Sorry, but I don't understand how this can be shareware, when they are other programs such as Linotype Font Explorer that do what this reports to do, along with other features such as total font management, finding duplicates, etc., and are free. Am I missing something here, such as repairing damaged fonts. That would be worth a shareware price.

MICHAEL_HAEUSLER  Messed up my whole system on MacOS 10.4.8. Suddenly all websites were displayed badly, wrong font sizes, bold and italic missing etc.. The Apple Mail GUI was completely warped out of proportion, here also: wrong font sizes etc.. Then I used the font cache cleaner in TinkerTool System v1.6, and everything was okay again. So it seems that the current version of Font Finagler (0.5.3) is not suitable for the latest MacOS version. Definitely needs an update.

DUSHAN  Like the rest of the reviews, this sped up my start-up 10x and cleared up some annoying problems on the first run..

here goes 10 more bucks on my credit card.. but it's worth it.
