DESCRIPTION
Stunt Copter is an old Macintosh game made by Duane Blehm, in 1987. Duane passed away a few years ago. But we've converted Stunt Copter to Mac OS X, so this generation of Mac gamers can have the chance to try out this old classic, and veteran gamers can have a nostalgia trip back to the days ;)
WHAT'S NEW
Version 1.1:
  • Stunt Copter now works on system 10.4.11 and newer.
  • The game window can now be resized.
  • The dock doesn't mess up the game anymore.
  • Moved from Quicktime to Java Sound, resulting in faster start up time.
Version 1.0.2:
  • Missing sounds added. Sounds are now exactly the same as in the original Stunt Copter v.2.0.
  • Steering bug fixed.
  • More optimized code.
REQUIREMENTS
Java 1.4.1 or later.

MACWRAPPER  on a similar topic - StuntCopter is available for the iPhone/ipod touch on the app store. Looks great - they really stayed true to the original design!

Highly recommend you check it out.

TOMDOHERTY  I emailed the developer who responded immediately and solved the 10.4.11 problem. So, re-download ...and enjoy. Well done.

LRKIRSCH  I can't open it either. 10.4.11 on a Power Mac G5. Check out console.log when you try to open Stunt Copter; for me it looks like some kind of a java error. I'm going to paste it into my e-mail to the developer. I couldn't find a specific crash.log for it.

DANIEL  It is a decent recreation of an old classic, and still fun to play. However, it freezes you entire system (at least on a 400 megahertz comp) if you have it behind the Dock or open a menu. I would expect better from a clone of an application that ran fine on my 8 megahertz Mac Plus!

DES COURTNEY  This game needs to default to a 512x344 window to be truly faithful to the original. Having to hide the Dock, since this app is dumb with regards to sizing, hurts the convenience of having this game. (Allowing drops from the top of a 1024x768 screen distorts the scoring system of the game...)

DON-MARTIN   Actually, the original game always checked the screen size, and made the game as big as the screen. I used to play the original game on a Mac 2 fx and a 19 inch screen. The scoring system worked the same too.
