IPMenu is a free utility that conveniently puts both your local and internet IP address into your menu bar. To see your IP addresses, simply click on the icon. IPMenu can also e-mail you when your internet IP address changes.
KOODOUGH Amazing app. Simple, light wight, and highly valued.
For a Ti Powerbook with only 512 mb of ram IP Menu is perfect for me and people with scarce resources.
I do like the concept of WIMP as a security app too buy hiding the menu icon but I I'll just take a snapshot of the menu bar (+shift+4) and disguise it. (Version 1.1)
ANONYMOUS What would be better is an arrangement that saced space in the menubar, such as having the app icon and then clicking on it to view the IP address. (Version 1.1)
DAVEY This is how IPMenu works now :-). You click the icon, and your IP addresses are shown to you. (Version 1.1)

DAVEY Oops, I'm sorry, I mis-read your comment. Yes, a dock icon is planned for a future version :-). (Version 1.1)

BVL I think this is a great little app for anyone who has to access their home computer from the office. PacBell can change my ip address several times a week, so the email notification is a real convenience! (Version 1.1)
ALEX, FROM BELOW question, when check ip every: is NOT checked, does it update the ip at all?
and how come in version 1 you allowed checking the ip every 5 mins as the quickest delay, and now in 1.1 it's 30 mins? i'd like it to check every minute if possible (Version 1.1)
ANONYMOUS Who needs to check their IP every minute? Generally your IP will not change as long as your machine is on or until it's released & reset by DHCP (24 hours commonly). Every 1-5-? minutes is a waste of resources. (Version 1.1)

DAVID MCGAVERN Hello,
The five minute limit was upped to 30 because I found a lot of people making un-necessary checks (aka their IP didn't change). For basically all connections, 30 minutes is perfect :-). If others really want it lower though, I'll bring it back down in the next release. (Version 1.1)

ALEX i like the ip email thing, could we also play a sound or get a pop up notification or something?
SAN Great app, but... I have DSL dynamic IP. IPMenu will always show me the same external IP, but the truth is my real IP changes periodically and is not the same as shown by ipmenu. Similar, but not the same. (Version 1.1)
IPMenu contacts the Loopware.com server to figure out your IP address. So, the external IP address you see in IPMenu is what all others on the internet will see. (Version 1.1)

DAVID MCGAVERN In addition (forgot to mention this in the last post :-), you can have IPMenu update your IP address once every 30 minutes from the preferences (or whatever time you'd like). This will help people with dynamic DSL/Cable/etc :-). (Version 1.1)
