DESCRIPTION
Soundflower is a Mac OS X (10.2 and later) system extension that allows applications to pass audio to other applications. Soundflower is easy to use, it simply presents itself as an audio device, allowing any audio application to send and receive audio with no other support needed. Soundflower is free, open-source, and runs on Mac Intel and PPC computers.
Example: To send audio from iTunes to Max/MSP, open the System Preferences and select Soundflower (2ch) as the device for sound output inside the Sound panel. Then, inside Max/MSP's DSP Status Window, select Core Soundflower (2ch) as the input device. All output of iTunes should now be sent to Max/MSP's adc~ object.
BILLY THE BIKER I couldn't figure out how to use Soundflower to play audio to my remote speakers so I tried to uninstall it with the script provided. It seems to have disappeared from my Apps folder, but Soundflower is still listed in Input and Output in my System Preferences/Sounds. How do I get rid of them? (Version 1.5.1)
KFKERNEL I downloaded (twice) and each time did the install as usual. Everything seemed normal, but no application is produced. When I search for "Soundflower" I get only the many files that are in the downloaded folder.
NEIL_M Have you looked in Utilities Folder > Audio MIDI Setup?
Under the Audio Devices tab, you should find Soundflower listed.
Default Input: Default Output (Version 1.4.3)

ARVIDTP yeah - it installs a virtual audio device, not an app. Soundflowerbed is an app that provides some control over the virtual audio device. (Version 1.4.3)

MS2K so how do i uninstall this (Soundflower 1.3.1)?
according to the description here: "Soundflower includes an uninstaller."
and the Sunflower package itself says:
"From an account with administrator privileges, double-click on
the Uninstall_Soundflower.command file."
but i don't see that anywhere in what i downloaded.
Do not install v1.2 if you are already running an older version of Soundflower on your PPC Mac. v1.2 will most likely not work anymore, although it will report a successful installation. Just stay with v1.1 until they fix it. (Version 1.2)
I just checked the Cycling'74 forums and obviously they screwed it up so that Sunflower 1.2 runs on most MacIntels but not on PPCs. So, if you are on a PPC Mac and you still have a backup of v1.1, revert to that version until they fixed it. In fact, it seems that the only change is that v1.2 is supposed to be an "Universal" Binary, which it is obviously not... :P
If you're using a PPC Mac, DO NOT UPDATE to v1.2 yet! (Version 1.2)
INANE I tried to install this on my MacBook and it doesn't seem to work. Does anyone know if there will be a universal binary coming and when? (Version 1.1)
